Accessories to play files for tickling

ok here is my question: I am going to buy a new computer and I would like to know what program(s) to buy to play as many of these forms of files as possible (wmv, mpg, mpeg, rm, ram) can someone help please.

I can answer for a few of these file types. The wmv files can be played with Windows Media Player, and the others (mpg, mpa, rm, ram) can be played with RealPlayer. The best thing is you shouldn't have to buy anything; both players can be downloaded. You can find downloads at these sites:

in addition to downloading all of that stuff, if you either pick up divx or a windows codec update from microsoft.com, you can play all of the .avi and .wmv files that are so popular around here. I personally use the Nimo codec pack. It's got all of the out-there codecs that play every single file known to man.

I got the Nimo Codec too so I can play .avi, but sometimes they work in RealPlayer, too. I got Build 9 Beta 1, which works just fine.
