ok, I figure this might be a touchy subject, and I think I probably know why it isn't done already, but I'd like to suggest that next to our posts, besides name, location, and # of posts, we have either M or F to indicate gender.......
I figure that this indication is not there because we are trying to encourage women to join in the fun here, and when they do they are often barraged with propositioning males, so putting a big F in their profile would be like linning them up for the slaughter...... it makes sense to me....
however.... there is a place there for location, and that is a pretty personal piece of information anyway... so maybe make the choices be M F or Undisclosed.....
the reason I even bring this up is because obviously I don't know everyone on here who posts, and many of the user names are very gender nonspecific...... there have been several times that I have replied to a post thinking I was talking to a male and then later felt completely ridiculous when I found out the person I was addressing was a woman... I just simply didn't know.... oops!!
This just seems like it would be a way to better put posts into perspective while you are reading them if you know the gender of the poster right away...... plus, I could then avoid reffering to a woman as "man" or "dude" in the future 🙂
anyway, just a suggestion.
love to hear the moderators and founders take on all this...
