Done it before, and now doing it again with more reason and conviction.
This past week I posted an article and titled the thread "All in the Family" or something close to it. It was simply a short article about how tickling in the author's family was a bonding right-of-passage sort of thing. It got one reply from a user who liked the article. (Proof that the post did appear). Then the next day, the thread was gone. Absolutely disappeared. Not moved, gone. I got no notification from any mod or other user as to why or what happened. Not even a PM. There was no content in the article dealing with pedophilia, tickling as abuse, or having to do with any sexual nature.
This is NOT the first time this has happened to me on this forum and frankly, I think that's going to do it for me as far as being an active participant. I honestly would not mind if any thread that I started were closed due to issue or potential hazard, or even if the thread were removed so long as there was some justification or notice (even if I disagreed) from a moderator or other users. But to my knowledge, this is probably the 2nd or 3rd time that this has occurred and without any contact as to why, I’m now deeming it fairly impossible to see where the parameters of conversation exist.
I also have STRONG reason to believe that there are worse factors that play into what is affecting my feelings towards interaction here. And I know from conversation outside of the forum that I am not the only one who feels that way. Unfortunately, this happens on similar boards and I had hoped this one would be different. Sad to say I was wrong. I am open to e-mails or pm’s on this but I won’t discuss that here under any circumstances.
Looking through the records for all threads started by me, I like to think (and hope others would agree) that I have posed some of the more deep, interesting, and introspective questions that the forum has ever seen. To whoever is reading this, I urge you to look for yourself. When posting in the past, I always took the time to think about what hadn't been posted before, what I'd like to know of others, and what I could share my own perspective with at the same time. More often than not, threads started to by me generally get washed down to page 4 within 48 hours.
I’m not complaining about lack of response. It could be that people aren’t interested in those types of topics. That is for readers to judge. Nevertheless, the combination of the above factors, and the final straw of unexplained removals of some of my threads from the board now prompt me to resign from posting at this time. I will not promise that I won’t post again. I merely thought it would be more than fair to explain the grievances that cause me to feel that myself and my posts are not welcomed here. I will continue to view and read what people are saying about a topic I love….tickling. If this thread/post gets deleted, moved, ignored, or shuffled off, believe me, I’ll understand completely. Continued success to the board.
Adios
