So I've spent quite a few years on this site posting from time to time, never really getting involved that much. I've asked for advice and seen for advice asked nearly every week. Everyone's situations are a bit different, but here's what I did that led me to where I am now.
First, lower your standards. Not regarding a mate, but your standards of finding a tickle partner. It'll happen, eventually. For me, it took a long time and I thought it'd never happen. So much so that the pain of not being able to tickle someone drove me to the point of banning the fetish from my thoughts in hopes I'd be released from it. Don't ever build a relationship with someone just for the sake of tickling, unless that's how you met (I'm not saying I've done this, but I've certainly considered it).
Be honest with your mate and with yourself. I told my girlfriend within a few weeks of dating that I had a foot fetish. She was really interested in it. Maybe that's just her, but I also had the confidence and ability to tell her without fear of being shamed. I told her what I liked about them and why I think it's dumb that people find it weird. She then went on to tell her roommate. I was pissed, but she said the roommate thought it was kind of interesting. The roommate has even asked my girlfriend if I've commented on her feet whether or not she thinks they're attractive and stuff.
A few weeks later I finally told her about my tickling fetish. I was a bit nervous about telling her about this, but again, I was confident that if she didn't have the decency to accept something as harmless as tickling, then she's probably not the right person for me. Needless to say, she was interested and fast forward a few weeks and she's asking me to tie her up and tickle her.
For those of you out there who are afraid to tell people, be smart about it, but realize that everyone's unique and everyone has their own quirks that make them different. If tickling is your darkest secret, you're way better off than a lot of people.
For other people who have had success, feel free to share how you got to this point.
