Alcohol ?

What is the cheapest, yet potent alcohol you know of? I'm looking to get more bang for my buck.

Absinthe is roughly the same price as most spirits and it's definitely more potent. My vote's for that. 🙂

I agree with the Lad. Absinthe. There are a variety of kinds but all are very potent. If you like beer....I strongly suggest the Dogfish Head IPA 120 ale. A pleasure to drink with a nice buzz soon afterwards...

Pure ethyl alcohol - but you can't drink it neat. They used to sell it in the States as "Everclear" - 98% by volume because it reacts with the air and dilutes from 100%.

If you google on "Simple Still" you will find something you can use at home - depending on your country's restrictions.

Strong alcohol content is a bad idea because it will cause real heath problems pretty quickly. I suggest beer.

Ermm, dodgy ground here as I don't really know. One of our chem lecturers used to talk of a bloke who had to have a couple of "double ethyls" before work but I think that's an extreme case.

The usual progression is up from weak drink to stronger and not to stat off at the top end. There are plenty of cases of someone starting off trying to drink neat whisky and dying on the spot. That's at about a third of the concentration we are talking about here.

If you are really looking to have the effect quickly without too much permanent damage try vodka diluted by 50% with water or carbonated water which will be absorbed very quickly by your system. The stronger drinks tend to upset the stomach lining and slow down the effect. I have tried this and it tastes vile but really works and the bloke who told me was a reformed alky.

Absynthe. just be carefull on how cheap you buy some drinks, they may seem worthwhile but you'll get a massive hangover the next day with some

Either they had serious health issues to begin with, or I'm fucking Powergirl over here. As nice as that'd be, I'm assuming the former since there's the millions who drink normally with no ill effects.

Kid, if you want to get plenty drunk at a decent price, then you might want to start with tequila. Make sure you get pure agave tequila, and it should do you right.

Bang for your buck? Annie hit it right with Skol Vodka. Usually you can buy 1.75 liters for around $10. Mind yourself though- the cheap stuff can be a harsh mistress. I don't know where people on here buy their absinthe but even the cheap brands are relatively expensive ($30 for a half liter is the cheapest I've ever seen). It's a novelty and not worth it in my opinion.
Of course lab grade ethanol is the most economical if you have access to it...a gallon of 180 proof goes for a few bucks. Dilute with your favorite mixer and get your drunk on. Our ACS club did that back in undergrad for a road trip. Just be sure it doesn't have any hexanes added.

I've bouth absynthe for less than $10 xD. 1 liter and 80% alcohol seemed to be worth the price, but i guess it depends on where people are living

Mad dog 20/20 comes in many flavors and is cheap as hell.. What I drank when I first started drinking. Got me well lit many nights 🙂

I was attracted to this thread because I smelled a shoryuken.

But I'll throw my hat in by saying Hypnotic has treated me pretty well for a smooth and inexpensive drink.
For the type that doesn't drink often, the flavor does a good job to mask the booz. Tasty stuff.

Purple hun? Are you just trying to drink as much as you can while spending as little money as possible? Cause I'd recommend you at least purchase the higher quality alcohol and take your time and enjoy it hun.
