What is the cheapest, yet potent alcohol you know of? I'm looking to get more bang for my buck.
There are plenty of cases of someone starting off trying to drink neat whisky and dying on the spot.
Skol Vodka is pretty cheap, but it's nasty.
Bang for your buck? Annie hit it right with Skol Vodka. Usually you can buy 1.75 liters for around $10. Mind yourself though- the cheap stuff can be a harsh mistress. I don't know where people on here buy their absinthe but even the cheap brands are relatively expensive ($30 for a half liter is the cheapest I've ever seen). It's a novelty and not worth it in my opinion.
Everybody else: Thanks for the lecture, mom. I now know the error of my ways and blah blah blah.

Of course lab grade ethanol is the most economical if you have access to it...a gallon of 180 proof goes for a few bucks. Dilute with your favorite mixer and get your drunk on. Our ACS club did that back in undergrad for a road trip. Just be sure it doesn't have any hexanes added.
