LOL..."fetishy ones"? I'm sure you can whip up some character primarily for the fetish artwork, you're fully capable, I know you are 😀. The easiest way to do it is just come up with what your own ideals are for a female (using the fetish theme as a filter of sorts) and work off of that. I have a thing for punk rock chicks, catgirls and large feet, which is where Cali came from. I guess it might be harder for you seeing as how you don't actually have a true "tickling fetish" or "foot fetish" to coin a phrase...
Do you like Asian girls? Latin? Black? Blondes? Brunettes? Metalheads? Preppies? Short? Tall? Maybe something abit more fantasy oriented like some alien amazon girl or something more supernatural...a genie into foot worship or something...I dunno...
I have the exact opposite problem though...I can come up with a million and one characters with background stories and personalities, etc.....and then just throw them on the shelf with the rest when I come up with a new idea.....never to be used for anything....
Hey, need a character? LOL Got plenty to choose from or it can be custom made...😛
I know what I can do. And rest assured, if I created such a character the rest of the artists here would have to watch out.
😉
I'm really keen on what people like, what people want to see, and what works and what sells, dispite how you have evaluated my stance on the whole fetish issue. I have my own personal tastes and know what to do if I created such characters.
But alas, my weak point-
I don't feel I could create a character thats so empty, serves only one purpose, and is more or less the comsumate desires of my fans, manifested.
What good is creating a backstory or even universe if it all boils down to tickling or being tickled in the end? All of these things are sacrificed, pushed aside, bastardized, and taken for granted because of the one-track mind and tunnel vision through which the character(s) are created and adored.
Anyone that claims to know how I feel would know that I have deep feelings in the things I draw and particularly how they are expressed in the final piece. Sometimes a smile is not just a smile, and an expression can be multi-faceted and so telling of the character.
You are asking me, my friend, to create a cheap character. You know me better than that and know thats something I cannot do, something thats not possible for me.
When I create something I create it well, I don't slap it together and let it ride on it's purpose for continuity. I don't think people could fully appriciate the expansiveness of my characters the way they need to be appriciated for me to feel happy, content and ok with it.
I'd like to think theres some happy medium, and trust me, I've thought about this alot, different ideas, but it all returns me to the point- people here only want one thing, and if the rest is a bore theres no interest, and the character might as well not even exist if she's not delivering all the time.
You and the other artists here are so fortunate. You guys have no idea how easy it is for you to do what you do and how difficult it is for me. Its literally a battle of conscience for me (the idea of creating fetish characters). Don't get me wrong, I don't see tickling or barefeet as some evil that will corrupt me, and anyone that has thought that or genuinely believes that is a fool. I think tickling is fine if its not overdone (in art and real life), and I like female feet and drawing them. I also like drawing faces and expressions, so no single thing takes precedence over everything, like it might for a fetishist. So thats not it. Rather, I don't want to conform.
And you know how it is. When you don't conform, you're ostracised. I was an outsider when I came here, and I'll be an outsider when I leave, whenever that is, if ever.
This is the truth of why I draw fanart primarily. Because I can breathe easy with a clean conscience in knowing that however I draw the characters, it doesn't change them as they are an official, unchangable, unmanipulatable presense and character which is already intellectually owned and unique unto the creators. Nothing I do will change them and so its easier to accept in drawing them however I want or when its a request made of a fan of mine or the series and they know I can draw it, and come to me for that purpose.
This, creating original characters however, its totally different, and you're smart enough to know that despite where you are and what you've done. Yes, I have complete control over what I do, but the pressure and demand is great, especially when you're talking about things such as this. I don't want my characters and myself to lose perspective.
