Idk about that, I just bought a clip using an american express gift card like a few months ago maybe. Guess ill be getting visa gift cards now instead

You definitely can find adult places that take amex.
but, any adult store that accepts American Express is in violation of their agreement with amex. Some people just don't get caught. Or it takes a long time to get caught.
It's pretty easy to open an account and tell Amex you are doing one thing when you are really doing another.
As the person said above, "officially"... they banished adult biz many years back.
