any of you watch this show? i have been watching it for a while now (mainly because i love Paula Abdul), and it has been entertaining. i HATE the hosts though. i cant stand them. i wish i could be the host, and i have TALENT. who did they sleep with to get that job?

as for the judges, as much as i love Paula, she is positive with everyone. i dont think she has ever said anything mean before. that's why i love her. Randy is okay, but Simon is the MAN!!! he tells it like it is. he is showing the contestants what the industry is really like. if you suck, you suck. if you're good, you're good.

as for the finalists. i cant believe after that train wreck performance by Justin (sideshow Bob look alike) of Michael Jackosn's song "PYT" he didnt get booted. but what a surprise that Tamyra got booted. she had TALENT. i thought it would come down to Kelly and Tamyra. Nikki is a beautiful woman, but idol? no. Justin has the performance value, but he cant really sing. now that Tamyra is gone, if Kelly doesnt win, something is very wrong.

Yep...

...that was a biiiiig surprise. My wife and I have been watching since the beginning, and we also thought it should have been Kelly vs. Tamyra at the end....very disappointed. Kelly has incredible power and Tamyra has superior range, decent power and certainly idol "looks" on her side. The voting was a travesty....and I agree, Simon is brutally honest, but why not be at that point? Someone is going to tell you that you suck eventually, why not save yourself the time. Overall, an excellent entertaining Tues night show.. Q

I, too, have been watching it from show one. Never missed a week yet. I also was VERY surprised that Tamayra was eliminated this last week. I thought for sure Nikki would be the one to leave the show last week. Kelly is gorgeous, and an AMAZING singer, but I just don't think she has the "stage presence" or idol personality. She is extremely gifted, but she just comes across as being a bit too 'girl next door' to really be an icon. While I do agree that Justins rendition of "PYT" left much to be desired, he has been my pick from the very start. He has a beautiful falsetto voice (very reminicent of my absolute favorite singer), and he has TOTAL stage presence and personality. He is so at home with all the attention, and handles it like a true pro. I think it is gonna come down to Kelly and Justin for the final show. The fact Nikki has remained this long still amazes me. She's got the look, but Tamayra was a MUCH better singer.

I saw the first episode, when they were doing the auditions. It was hillarious. I loved it when Simon would tear into someone. What was the funniest, was when the people who sang like a wounded buffalo, had the biggest attitudes. "What do you mean I can't sing?!?"

I didn't watch another episode until a couple of weeks ago, and I'll never watch another. I couldn't even make it through the first half of the show. By the time the fourth singer had finished (there were still about 8 left then) I had had enough. If these kids are the future of music, please let me go deaf.

The show is fixed...according to USA Today they have found many people who are able to make over 10,000 calls at a time. That's the only way Tamyra could have possibly been voted off. I can't believe Americans could possibly be that ignorant to get rid of Tamyra and leave a total no-talent like Nikki (who almost never sings on key). If Nikki wins, I'm moving to England. On second thought, that's where BigJim lives. Maybe I'll just stop watching TV for a while...

I would love to hear it. Maybe she was one of the ones I missed. The one I saw, they were all singing '70's songs, and butchering them. But I wouldn't mind being proved wrong.

last night, Kelly did a great job!!! it is hard to do Mariah Carey, but she nailed it! Justin actually did better, but Nikki was the same. i like Nikki though. she is a very beautiful woman, but in terms of talent, Kelly all the way....

but how come i have a feeling Sideshow Bob (Justin) will win?

I also recommend her Can't Live Without You, and Don't Play That Song...although come to think of it, she hasn't had a "bad" song yet, which is incredible for live performances under pressure! Most of the time, when I hear a band "live", it tends to be very disappointing. She seems to thrive on having an audience, which seems to me to be a requirement for a position like SuperStar, hmmm? I am one of those Nikki fans who did call in and vote for her. I hope she comes out with an ablum someday I would surely buy it. She is gone now so I won't be watching the final show. I could care less about Kelly or Justin.

My friend Nicki got me hooked on watching this show at work...

Kelly's going to win. I will be extremely surprised if she doesn't. I haven't heard the judges make one negative comment towards her yet. They've been telling her over and over that she's the next Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey. It's obvious that she's the favorite of the judges. And she has the most powerful and impressive voice. There are a lot of 14 y/o girls who will vote for Justin cause they have a crush on him, but I still think Kelly will win.

Justin would be a whole lot cuter if he'd cut off some of that hair, grow a little facial hair and stop singing girly stuff 😀 He CAN dance though. And he can definitely sing...but he would be way hotter if he didn't try to be Michael Jackson 😀

Personally, I liked Nikki too, I hope she starts writing her own stuff and goes into a rock career of her own, she reminds me a lot of Pink... hopefully she'll go a seperate route, cause the world doesn't need another Pink. Originality is best.

I think Simon and I were separated at birth. I love his comments and honesty...especially his answer when asked, "What could America have done right with last night's voting?" and he said, "America is right if the only two on the stage next week are Kelly and Justin". Did anyone notice how none of the winners didn't even shed a tear for Nikki...yet everyone on stage (as well as all three judges)...were stunned and many were crying last week when Tamyra was let go. The audience booed, as well. That is a pretty strong statement, I would say. I know Nikki has her fans and she's a cute girl...but when it comes to singing she absolutely cannot hold a candle to Kelly (or Tamyra)...both of whom have range, powerful voices, and who actually sing on key. If she didn't have that hair and wear the clothes she does, she probably wouldn't have even made the show at all. As Simon said, she is lucky to have made it as far as she did.

America got it right!!! Kelly Clarkson is THE American Idol. she deserves it! her voice is amazing. personally, when she sang that Celine Dion song and that Mariah Carey song, i fell in love with her. for a long time i thought Tamyra was going to win, but Kelly showed how good she truly is. it should have been a Tamyra vs Kelly final, but Sideshow Bob (aka Justin) made it somehow. oh well, if Justin won, would anyone besides the teeny boppers care? i think i will buy the American Idol single when it is released. i wish Kelly success.

now, if they could only vote off those two dunderheads that they call hosts.....can i audition for host? i can do a much, MUCH better job than those two will EVER do.

I have to admit to not even wanting to watch this show in the beginning, as I thought is was going to be another one of Fox's expliotation reality shows. But after the 30 finalists wee chosen, I got hooked. I chose Kelly as the winner right from the start. She was the only one who showed any level of true professionalism at all. Her voice is one of those that you just have to be born with. No matter what genre was thrown at her, she pulled it off, and in so many keys and timbres!

I also was instantly taken in by her "girl-next-door" attitude and total lack of "divaness". Thank God people picked right and voted this phenomenal talent as the American Idol.

Oh, and by the way, since this is a tickling Forum...

...am I the only one who wanted to get his hands on the luscious Ryan Starr??? 🙄
