Absolute crap.

Special effects were introduced too early into the movie without developing the storyline first...

Main character, Ryan Reynolds, was truly unbelievable as husband/father. Here's a hint: don't cast an actor who usually stars in comedies like Van Wilder as the lead role in a horror film that was based on a true story...

Another wasted film that had oh so much potential but was, sadly, chopped to bits to excite teenyboppers only.

Sad that horror films these days don't take themselves as seriously as the fans who enjoy the genre...

You make some good points Moses but its better than the original. At least in the remake they explain WHY the house is haunted. Also it has a much better pace to it. I hate remakes too but you gotta go with whats given to you, no choice! I dont think its good to nitpick every little thing in a movie like a critic. I say sit watch the movie, if when the credits roll you had a good time its good. If not then it sucks. You have to play the hand your dealt Moses...House of Wax next.
