A portrait of Andrea Corr, from the irish family band The Corrs. I love Andrea and the Corrs, and their music and have been a fan since they first debuted in the early 90s. Here's Andrea giving us a cheezy smile that warms my heart and makes me smile as well. 😱 I was absolutely thrilled to draw this, as I've been wanting to finally draw a Corr for the longest time. I look forward to drawing more of Andrea and of her sisters Caroline and Sharon, and also her brother, Jim. :happy:

This painting is actually based on a photograph of Andrea that I like, which I used for reference. I also drew some things differently so its not just the same picture. I may add it later.

This one is definitely going in my portfolio.

I plan on doing other celebrity, musician, artist, singer portraits too, so I look forward to that.

A different approach than we usually see from you, Vlad. The face is a bit photo-realistic for my taste, but certain subtle, fanciful details succeed in leavening this impression. The wafting stray hairs, for instance, supply nice movement to the scene, while also suggesting a guileless freedom of spirit. This force-of-nature theme is reinforced by the complicated clothing pattern, ripe with climbing floral and celestial imagery. The pink color motif is warming and comforting... Andrea comes off as quite friendly and fun to be around (as you say, she exudes a playful goofiness). I do wish she weren't squinting quite so much... I'd like to see more of her eyes. I suppose this aspect was dictated by the source photo, though. All considered, an impressive addition to your portfolio! Your art won't become stale as long as you continue to experiment with style!

As I wanted to draw the photo because I like it so much, I drew her as closely to the photograph as I could, so yes, her eyes were squinting in the photo (kind of gives her expression a cute chipmunk-ish quality), and I chose it, in part, because she was doing that and then with the smile and that outfit it all had that charm she's known to have. Plus I added things or drew them differently and that added to it I think.

I'm really pleased with how it turned out though, especially since I haven't drawn anything since Encounter In The Garden due to artist's block that I had.

Now that it's out of the way I can keep going. As this expression Andrea has is personally exagerated by her intentionally (she's being silly), I'm looking forward to drawing her with a more relaxed expression and with different expressions to really take advantage and display her beauty.

I had to draw this one though. It was too cute to pass up. 😱

This also gave me a chance to put my photographic memory to the test by looking at the actual photo, and then drawing the majority of it back from memory.

Although maybe it wouldn't have mattered. I have two of the Corrs' music videos (in addition to the cds) so I've gotten used to seeing Andrea and the others that their appearances are already locked into my memory.

The only other reason I used a reference was because this is my first time drawing her, and while I could have tried without it and probably drawn her nearly as well, I didn't want to take that chance. Eeeeeeeeee *huggles Andrea* 😱

It's a very nice pic indeed 😀 . Got to admit, gothy as I am, I'm prone to listening to occasional bouts of the Corrs, if only because I did when I was younger. And Andrea is hawt!

Andrea IS hot, and for all the right reasons (at least from my perspective):

1.) She's a natural beauty and doesn't need tons of makeup to look good. She does more than just fine with what God gave her.

2.) Her modesty and classy approach to both the business and the genre is very becoming, as is how she comports herself in this atmosphere. The Corrs never take anything for granted. Her and her brother and sisters are very genuine people.

3.) She doesn't throw herself out there like a piece of meat. Her energy and sincerity is often enough. She has a presense and a spark of life that can't be conpensated for by trashy clothes, show-boating, and being a poser.

4.) She comes from a religious background and so can appriciate the value of having morals, guidelines, and spirituality in her life. She's very family orriented.

5.) Ireland said so. Andrea was actually voted "The Sexiest Woman In Ireland" years back.

I guess what I'm saying is........ Marry Me Andrea! 😍 LOL 😛
