breaking news..Andrea Yates has been found not guilty by reason of insanity for the killings of her five children..she will next be sent to a mental institution and maybe one day can be released..but not for many many years...

wow! I agree that she is insane but she should still go to jail for what she did to her children.
 
TicklishGrl4Lfe, she wasn't convicted by reason of insanity. In other words, she wasn't aware of what she did or like comprehend what she did. Meaning a sane person would understand and know exactly what he or she does. Insane people don't.

Hell she had to have been insane to kill her kids. No mother in her right mind would even think of killing her kids. You might get frustrated beyond hell with them and wanna shake them like British nanny, but a mother wouldn't do that.
 
I hope she stays in the mental hospital for the rest of her life.

If she ever is released, would you hire her as a babysitter?
 
I just heard about this on Fox News. I can't get over that she was not charged. Sure the mental institute that she will be going to will be just like jail but some day she can possibly get out. She is the one who has to live with herself for killing her kids for the rest of her life. I'm just kinda disgusted.
 
well emails are pouring in to ctv and other news channels..saying Russell should have been tried as well...what a creep he is..
 
I prefer the "guilty, but insane" ruling. Regardless, she will hopefully remain locked up in some form for the rest of her life.
 
So long as she stays locked up for the rest of her life, I don't care where it is.

Or better yet, I hope she gets beaten to death.

If I remember correctly,she cahsed one of her children who ran out into the yard after that child saw what was happening If my memory is correct,then I don't feel she is insane I hope she commits suicide and rots in hell for what she did She will not get my sympathy :sowrong:

Hey, from what I saw on Court TV, the husband is just as much at fault - he wouldn't let her work, kept moving her to smaller and smaller places, knew she had problems. They also followed the teaching of these psycho cult leaders. Well, he forced her to and then she became so brainwashed she became more devout then him.

He's just as responsible as her - if she's insane, he drove her there.
 
And some people say there's no need for capital punishment. They should both be executed. Insanity is a cop-out, nothing more.
 
Now that I look at the facts of this case, it's pretty obvious to me that this woman knew exactly what she was doing, and was not "insane". Pretty calculated for somebody who is "insane". This woman murdered her children, and she's basically walked. I wonder what the verdict and media outlook would have been, had it been the husband drowning all of his little children.


Let's be honest here, he'd be on death row, regardless of mental state. But since it's the poor, reclusive mother, who was savagely abused by the husband, now all of the sudden it alleviates the responsibility this woman has for her own actions.

Pathetic. Fuck the legal system.

"Andrea filled the tub with water and beginning with Paul, she systematically drowned the three youngest boys, then placed them on her bed and covered them. Mary was left floating in the tub. The last child alive was the first born, seven-year-old Noah. He asked his mother what was wrong with Mary, then turned and ran away. Andrea caught up with him and as he screamed, she dragged him and forced him into the tub next to Mary's floating body. He fought desperately, coming up for air twice, but Andrea held him down until he was dead. Leaving Noah in the tub, she brought Mary to the bed and laid her in the arms of her brothers."


Oh, what I wouldn't give to slowly drown this woman in my bathtub. Christ, just reading about this is making me go crazy.


edit - Now that I think about it, I'm not even going to stress about it anymore. Those children are in heaven, and as for Ms. Yates... Hell hath no fury like the fury of the Lord, and she will know what the true meaning of suffering is once she meets her end. And here's the best part: her suffering won't end.

Gremio me and a couple of friends were actually discussing that today and we all agree with you. If it HAD been the husband...there would have NO APPEAL, no calls by protest groups, no "insanity" defense. They would have locked him through away the key and then just headed to the death penalty phase.
If it was a man, he would have been villified in the press and made the posterdad for evil. There would be a TV movie out by now....
Thinking of that...I wonder if thats why the husband is now such a good freind to her....knowing the millions that will be rolling in.
If my wife ever did that, the last thing I would do is be friends with her and reminence about our kids.......

hmm let's not make this a gender issue. the only reason she was able to even pretend to be insane was because she stated that she suffered from post partum depression..and you know very well men can't suffer from that disease. but i agree that she was sane..i can't believe they retried her..that angered me right off the bat. of course she was sane, she called 9/11 calmly after the murders and stated what she had one..sane as you or i...
 
as a mother of two, I can't beleive this! from the first moment you hold your child,(or I should say the first moment you find out of your pregnancy) there is an unconditional feeling of love and responsibility to protect your child!
this BITCH deserves to suffer for the rest of her life. I hope she never gets a moments peace!

i agree with you one hundred percent..why in hell did they retry her in the first place? she was convicted the first time..i really don't understand the justice system in this country..it reminds me of the dog mauling case, where the owner of the dogs was first found guilty of second degree manslaugher but the judge later overruled that decision.. i mean he might as well have kicked the jury who worked so hard on deciding that case in the butt. or teeth, would have hurt more..
 
I would like to re-state my position. After seeing the media being so sypathetic to this monster of a woman, I have this to say: she says she was possessed by Satan and had to save her children. For being such a good Samaritan, she should be given the privelege to see her children again as soon as possible, courtesy of the state.

May she suffer the rest of her life and rot in Hell for all eternity afterwards
