Another Olive Oil Scene?

Everyone here knows of the two imfamous scenes with Olive on the boat and bridge. But i have yet to see anyone mention an episode i remember involving her and popeye. i believe they were dancing and olive was looking to another guy likely bluto and popeye tickled her to get her in a dress i think.

Does this ring a bell for anyone?

Yep...I remember it. He throws a coat up in the air and then drills his index fingers into her ribs. But instead of pulling her arms down like most people would, she oddly enough throws her arms straight up in the air where the coat then comes down over her arms.

Ah good. you know the scene. Do you perphaps remember the name of the episode? i was thinking jitterbug jive but i can't find it to confirm or not.

There is also another quick one. Olive is feeding the birds and puts a bread crumb on the toe of her shoe. When the bird gets it she says, " thats ticklish."
I always thought there was another one. (I'm an old guy.) Shes at the carnival and Bluto saws her in half. Always thought her feet were tickled but they may have edited it out, but I could have sworn it was another scene.

Popeye cartoons go back to the 30s, it was very rare back then to show a woman being tickled except Maureen O'Hara in Tarzan and Olive Oyl in Popeye. The best was when Bluto or Brutus peeled back the sole of her shoe on that construction beam adn tickled her soles.

Actually it's always been very rare 🙂(), regardless of decade, given that there are hundreds if not thousands of films made all over the world every year.

For the Thirties we have:

Olive Oyl -- Shiver Me Timbers! (1934), The Spinach Overture (1935), Bridge Ahoy! (1936) and Learn Polikeness (1938).

Tarzan (1932) -- Maureen O'Sullivan was foot tickled;

The Bowery (1933) -- Fay Wray had her feet tickled (unverified);

I'll Be Suing You (1934) -- Patsy Kelly was foot tickled;

Thank You, Jeeves (1936) -- Virginia Field was foot tickled;

The Great Ziegfeld (1936) -- Luise Rainer was foot tickled;

The Awful Truth (1937) -- Irene Dunn was rib tickled.
