Generally not, but I can think of at least one exception: from what I've heard, body areas with excessive body fat tend to have reduced sensitivity. That's not to say chubby folks can't be plenty ticklish, and I've certainly seen plenty of ticklish chubby girls. But if you burn the fat off, say, a belly, the belly becomes less insulated and thus more ticklish.

That's the only thing - getting down to bones as hips or ribs, but except for that it doesn't make a difference.

Annie is right, in that a weight loss provides for a change in how the skin receives pressure, as the underlaying structure have changed. And that in turn can change sensitivity, as the stimulation feels different.

But that falls under the 'health' can change stuff aspect I mentioned above.

I haven't exactly conducted studies, but I'd really bet stuff like race and skin color has no bearing on ticklishness. I would say the same thing about gender, although maybe that one's a little more controversial. Age and body weight might have some relationship, though. Kids and young adults seem to be more ticklish than older people, but maybe that's just how it looks, and I'll think differently when I'm that age. And I'd guess that a healthy weight is probably prime ticklishness. If you're anorexic or obese that might throw your system out of wack, either making you less responsive or getting stuff in the way of nerve endings and such. But I have no clue, just thinking out loud.

1) Brande Roderick - Feet aren't ticklish. She said so on the Howard Stern show years ago. Stern still got her in the tickle chair they tried tickling her feet, nothing no response whatsoever

2) Gina Lee Nolin - Claimed in a chat to that her only ticklish spot is above her knees

3) Pam Anderson - Feet tickled, again on Stern, slight response but not much

4) Kirtsen Dunst - Said her most ticklish spot is her ribs. That of course doesn't mean her feet aren't ticklish, but if they were extremely ticklish she probably would've mentioned her feet as her most ticklish spot. Apparently there was a poster on here who worked in Hollywood and had the opportunity to occasionally tickle a celebrities feet, while doing their pre-show make-up and said Kirsten was only slightly responsive. At my heaviest I was like 250 but im kinda tall so maybe it didnt appear that way. At any rate, I feel a lot better overall after losing bout 80-90 pounds and I dont mind the heightened sensitivity.

While it seems like total bunk to suggest that certain groups of people are BIOLOGICALLY more ticklish, it's entirely possible that society could condition certain groups of people to act/think of themselves as more ticklish. For example, while there's no evidence that degree of ticklishness skews across gender, it may be that woman and girls ACT more ticklishly, because that is often portrayed as a cute/positive thing for them to do. In another example, evidence of Mitchell's theory (which neither he nor I believe), if it exists, could be a result of Asian women and redheads' cultural predilection to act more ticklish.

Who knows, it just complicates things a bit more.

That said, if social media and other boards are anything to go by, then there are a lot of ticklish black women out there, same with latina. Very rare I come across a "not ticklish" admission in the case of the former.

I saw that interview, and I used to watch her Newlyweds show. She was definitely lying with that statement, because Nick (then-husband and mega hottie--lucky girl) tickled her more than once on that show. I remember one episode where he was kind of making out with her and tickling her on her legs and asking if she liked it and she was kinda whining/laughing and saying no. Another time he was kissing her neck and she started laughing and squealing and saying it tickled.

I think she just said "her groin" because it's generally a weird and uncomfortable thing to be asked in an interview and she probably didn't want anyone attempting to tickle her. Hopefully no one would attempt to tickle her groin!
