Hi everybody,
I'm just looking for some deathmatch buddies to play me in those games. I loved Doom 3, my friends didn't like it at all, but their consol gamers I do both. Anyway if you like Doom 3, Quake 4 (hell, Quake 2 or 3's cool too), or Half Life 2 post your comments. All is welcome.

Oh yea, Gotta love HL2. Nothing better than pwning someone with a toilet to the face. I don't play HL2 death match too much, but if you want to play I won't mind joining in 😉

I have Final Doom, the special edition one. It has all of the Doom games on it except the most recent ones. I haven't played in a while. I'll probably reinstall it sometime.

Doom is actually pretty easy when you know how to use strafing properly and take advantage of cover. Anyone who stands right out in the open deserves to die. 😛

Also, a good player knows how to preserve specific ammo for specific enemies and count their rounds when they have to. Its really tempting to waste it all on a single big daemon sometimes, but part of the tactics of the game is using your inventory properly. And then of course theres tricking the daemons into killing eachother, thats something you'll have to do to clear larger rooms sometimes.

yeah that's true. I', able to get through the first 3 episode of Ultimate Doom without dieing on Ultra Violence. but with The Plutonia Experiment, the most common demon are those Revnents, and that's a pain in the ass.

My favorite is still the cyber daemon (the one in your avatar). I only wish he had another weopon though. His rocket launcher arm is deadly and has a long range and all, but for something so huge to only have one weopon isn't very challenging. All you need to do with this guy is straf him; those rockets are so easy to sidestep and he's really slow.

He could use a chaingun or something. Something fast and rapid to counter his slow speed.

my first computer game was Quake 2, so i'm a big quake fan. hated quake 3 that they made it into a stupid arena. quake 4 was awesome, gonna play it for a 3rd time sometime this week. doom 3 was sweet, scared the bejesus outta me. my numba one game is half-life. played it and it's mods dozens of times. and half-life 2 is breath taking. love it all!

HAHAHAHAHAHAH BIG NORM!!!! I LOVE YOUR AGENT SMITH ANIMATION!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!!!

*Sorry for caps lock....it was too funny...i had to use them...*

I own both Half-Life 2 and Doom 3. I can play with you online, oh and a really good game is F.E.A.R. that game is really sweet.

That little girl scared the crap out of me... Fear rocks, btw. ;D

I know right. I downloaded the demo, and I was climbing down this ladder and she appeared as I was turning around. That bugged me out a little man. Damn! However what I really liked about that particular game is that when you look down, you see your legs, although when you look down in real life in real life you see your entire body, but it's a start. Quake 4 did that during a couple of parts actually, like the Strogg Medical Facilities. And another thing I liked about FEAR is when you climb a ladder you see your legs and arms. Most shooters you climb a ladder with your legs while holding your gun. :weird: I guess it's the poly count that would prevent the developers from doing that, the more polygons the model has the slower the game runs. And with first person shooters the poly count makes a HUGE difference on whether the game will run smoothly or not.

Yeah, but in numbers, the Cyberdemon can prove problematic. There's this secret level on Plutonia (I know I keep bringing this up but it's just the best example) there was at one point at least 4 or 5 Cyberdemons along with 20 or so Revenants. And even before that (mind you this is still in the same area) there's like 3 Cyberdemons, an ass load of Arachnotrons, and one Spider MasterMind. This level is just plain ridicules.

QUAKE 2 IS MA' SHIT. I love Quake 2!! I've mastered that game and I still play it at least once a year. And on multiplayer I'm unstoppable with the railgun. I actually liked Quake 3 I know what you’re saying though with the whole "multiplayer only" crap. I didn't care for that too much either, but when I am playing Quake 3 online, I have a lot of fun, and again the railgun is my weapon of choice. The original Quake is awesome too, and it would be so cool if they remade that with the Doom 3 engine.

Ok so we got a1532b, BigNorm (who claims he'll own my bones in Half Life 😀 ), JakeJones369, and myself for Half-Life 2. Then we got JakeJones369 and BigNorm down for Doom 3. And BigNorm, I will school you in Quake 4 😀 Now we gota make some arrangments. Hopefully some more members will come forward and then we can have one big ass bloodfest! What about you Vladislaus Dracula you in on any of these?

I know what level you're talking about, but its just as much possible as it is ridiculous. They wouldn't make a level so hard you couldn't pass it. It just trys your patience, but cooler heads prevail.

Yeah, I know, the last time I played that level was when I first got Final Doom, so I was more or less exploring the levels with God Mode. Never got around to playing without the cheats like I do with Ultimate Doom and Doom II. So are you able to join the deathmatches in Doom 3, Quake 4, or HL2?

I don't have any of those games. I'm not the gamer I used to be. Although I recently purchased Star Wars: Empire At War, and I'm hooked on that.

None of you play the Quake 3 mod named "Urban Terror," do you? 😀

I suppose I could download it. What is it exactly? and I'm sure we could do good old fashioned Quake 3 😀 But what about the games we're talking about, are you able to do them?
Oh yeah, I love the signature, it's funny as shit!!!

That's cool. I'm not that big on Star Wars, the movies are cool, but that's about it. Did you try Age of Empires 3 yet, that shit's addicting. I'm not even big on stradegy games either, as a matter of fact, I'm not into stadegy games period. I can't wait to see what they do with Age of Empires 4 (assuming they come out with one.) I there's an Age of Empires 4, they'll be covering the 20th century. First World War BABY, yeah! heh heh heh heh

And everyone else who's involved in this thread, ya think we're good to go and start killing each other or do you guys want to keep this shit going for a little while longer to see if anyone else wants in? Either way, it's cool!! YEAH!!! GO LITTLE THREAD GO! lol 😀

i do play FEAR online, so tell me sometime you wanna play fear, and look for me. my in-game name is BigNorm (obviously)

Half-Life 2 is acting up on my computer, and i can't play for more than 15 minutes before my computer crashes.

right now i'm really big in Planetside. it's a very fun massively multiplayer first person shooter. and if your on there, and get on the Emerald server, look up BigNorm in the Vanu Soverienty and i'll get ya to join the best outfit on planetside, ever.

Empire At War is a real-time strategy, akin to Command & Conquer, Starcraft, Warcraft, and similar games. And if you don't like those types of games it probably wouldn't be worth your time.

As for me being in on this thing of yours, I already said I don't own any of those games nor do I have any plans to.

I know you don't own those games :sigh: , I guess I needed to be a little more specific or something when I was calling for the attention of the participents of this thread (which is turning out to be more of a video game disscussion thread.) Hmmmmm I'll attempt to start a more general video game thread later 🙂 Anyway the last real-time strategy game I played was A Bridge Too Far, just one of dozens of World War II strategy, it was neat. I've been looking for a World War I real-time strategy recently. Do you know of any?

Nope, don't know of any. I only end up buying a game if I already know about it or it caught my eye.

If you guys play Natural Selection for Half-Life, that's the FPS I usually play, besides Half-Life 2.
