Any Funk/soul music fans out there?

So I've been mostly a hip hop fan for many years of my life, however through the way the genre samples other music I've discovered a new love for Funk/soul music. I know sampling is a bit of a controversal subject matter where it can be viewed as ripping other artists off, however i've discovered so much great music it's become a real joy to track originals down. So much so the first thing I do is read production credits and see what's been sampled on certain tracks.

Anyway over the years I've become a massive fan of James Brown, Isaac Hayes, Funkadelic, Ohio Players, Curtis Mayfield, Rick James and Teddy Pendergrass to name a few.

Anyone else have any favourites or love for the genre?
