Any Heavy Equipment Operators in the house?

Hey ticklefreaks. I was just wondering if any of you out there are experienced in Operating Engineering/Heavy Equip Operating? I'm possibly making a transition from the retail industry to the construction industry and was wondering if someone a little wiser than myself on the matter could give me some advise it terms of how best to get my foot in the door and also how to get the best training I can get. I've researched this and amazingly got hired for a position and will start in three weeks if all goes right. I'm sure it will come to me as I learn more about the business, but if any of youy fine people are savvy with this kind of thing, your advise is highly and appreciatively welcomed. Thanks a million.

Sorry I cant be of help Lionhart, I'm afraid the only heavy equipment I'm used to is lifting gear - i.e my bra. Is quite an engineering manoeuvre to get it loaded prpoerly of a morning :woot

Your new employer will give you all the training that's required by OSHA and state law, usually more. If you're looking to make yourself more attractive to a POTENTIAL employer, then I'd suggest giving OSHA a call and asking what it takes to get certification. They've got an 800 number.
