The following question was put out on a TV Quiz show the other day here in the UK
forty six scouts from Wilmslow go camping, they took twenty three two-man-tents. eleven tents were red and twelve were blue. Add all the numbers.
That is exactly how it was put up on the screen with the numbers written in letters. The obvious answer you'd think was 94 but the answer is wait for it...... 5053. The annoying thing is after they'd given the answer they didn't explain how they reached it. I can get to within 60 or 70 either side of it but not spot on. Are there any maths brains out there who can work this out please, it's driving me nuts?
