anyone else hate the word "pro-active"

I don't know if it's just me, but the word pro-active really irritates the hell out of me. I once watched a Simpsons episode where a person pointed out that words like "pro-active" are just buzz words that dumb people say to sound smart. Since I watched that episode I started noticing how many people say that word throughout the day. It really does sound idiotic to me, as if the person isn't smart enough to think of the words "assertive" or "take initiative."
