I sure am.... Talks are starting again any day now.. Hopefully something can get worked out soon.

OMG YES!!! I do not watch basketball and the NFL season is winding down. Baseball is way off too so I would say I miss it immensely!

i miss it but i don't...i miss seeing the highlights on the news but i don't miss the news guys speculating when this one will be let go or when the coach will be fired etc.

Hell yeah

I mean, we do have a junior team here, but man - hard not to see the Flames kick ars, and my Bruins beat on Giggleygirl25's Sabres.
Then again, I miss GG25 more....

The problem the NHL has is that half of its players simply moved over to Europe and have no reason to care if the NHL runs this year, they are still getting paid...who cares about the other stiffs who couldn't get on a team or didn't want to go to Europe.

THAT is where the Players Assoication screwed up, they should have barred players from playing overseas during the lockout...then ALL of the players would be encouraged to take something...oh well..

Maybe now is a good time to get into Rugby...🙄

I definitely miss the NHL....on the bright side, though, I have my AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins to watch, and my Flyers are undefeated thus far 🙂

Ahh, hockey...

...the only true non-combative sport where two guys can beat the crap out of each other, and the refs will only stop it when THEY'VE seen enough. OF COURSE I MISS IT !

Some moron sent a letter to the editor saying that he was gald that there was no NHL because he didnt like the violence and that he hopes the NBA does the same. He printed his full name so we can send him hate mail

People like that makes me wanna puke..

Here is a rumor I heard today, which is good news.

The National Hockey League will start its 2004-05 season around January 28th, 2005.

The league has passed out a letter to all 30 venues to allow for merchandise, tickets, and the arena works to be prepped for the press release that will come somewhere between December 9th, 2004 and December 16th, 2004.

I just thought that I would pass this out. It's 99.9% certain that the league will resume play and 100% certain that the league is planning to do this. Barring a train wreck from the NHLPA (they were the ones to give in), the season will start.

This one came from a friend in Calgary -- he called the last agreement back in '94.

greed greed greed....
you call it a sport, I call it a business enterprise.
the fans are the victims.

Amen... But being a fan for as long as I can remember this isn't gonna stop me from loving the game of hockey and watching the NHL when it resumes. I really do hope they get rid of Buttman, however.

yeah man i dont really want to see the rangers play.

there is greed involved...yes...HOWEVER the NHL players don't make nearly as much as NFL or NBA or MLB...i am disappointed that there's a strike.

I was reading today about the offer the union made to management (24% rollback of salaries, etc). Bettman and the owners aren't crazy about it. The owners created this mess in the first place! They'd like to tie salaries to revenue. Great idea! Who thought of it? They were doing everything BUT up to now. How could salaries go up like triple digit percents when you have no TV contract to really fall back on, like Baseball had?
All sides are actually at fault here. Goodenow could've made a lot of permanent, strong changes himself before the lockout, but he's just as much a clown as his predecessors.
I feel sorry for the real fans who loved this game and are suffering without it...

It's Not A Strike..

It's a lockout. The players would be playing if the owners would let them.

I hate this, the NHL has the best sport on the planet, with the best AND most accessible athletes on the planet.

Still a couple NHLers are gonna sign with the Toledo Storm so I'll get to see a few without having to pay the big bucks.

Also getting to watch Darren McCarteys band almost every weekend is nice too.

Still, it SUCKS having to watch the pussyass NFL just to see a contact sport.
