My mind races 24/7 and never stops. Been up for 2 days now and I gotta work for 8 hours not long from now. I feel like I'm going crazy slowly, but I feel more sane when I'm tired and my mind starts slowing down, but I work in 2 hours, so I'm about to drink a lot to stay awake..

I feel rather fucky. Anyone else feel fucky right now?

(Not a sob story, I'm just wondering)

Speed bump you should go to the doctor.

Some non-medicinal things you can do to "slow" your mind down are to work out every day (aerobic plus some weights) and to do yoga to help you relax.

Seriously go to the doctor.

Insomnia left untreated can cause a variety of damage...mentally and physically.

You're not giving your body the proper time to heal itself...which means that small, usually insignificant, things that your immune system usually handles aren't being addressed properly.

Just a rash of bad things could happen. See a physician.

And please keep us posted as to what you and your doctor find out. We're concerned about you.

Yeah, you guys pretty much confirmed what I thought. I had a feeling everyone was like this to some degree, but I guess not. My friend always tell me "you just gotta think differently" like I wouldn't have done so already if I could have.

I guess when my own sober thoughts are making me sick to my stomach, my heart beats faster and my breathing is erratic (would that be considered a panic attack?), that it's not a good thing.

It's been worse as of late, so I guess it's time I finally just give in and get some help for it. I'll try and make a doctors appointment for Wednesday when I'm off and if I think of it, I'll update this thread when I have news.

Thanks guys. 🙂

Speed, I know I'm not your favorite person in the world, but I'm going to try and offer some constructive advice with this..

When my mom was first diagnosed with the cancer in 2010, I could not sleep. Worry. fear. over her situation. I was not sleeping at all.

I went to my Dr, and he prescribed a half a mg of Xanax each night before bed, to help me sleep. It only lasts four hours at times, but it does work.

I suggest you see your Dr, and ask him about what my Drs have called a "mild sedative". It does help if one has a sleep problem.

This advice is sincere, and I hope it does help you.
