Stiffer feathers would be needed to really tickle, soft feathers like that just give her a soothig feeling.

I think that's the whole purpose of the bed.
NOT to tickle, but to be a soothing comfortable experience.
If it was supposed to tickle, wouldn't she have called it 'The Tickle Bed' ?
