No . Well , at least I didn't see any .
I didn't really like it . 90% of the movie is Marie Antoinettes parties ... it gets kind of boring .
No WAYYY!
Okay give me those feathers in your siggie Zerit! We'll see if i can't change your mind!
😛
It was a great movie!! I loved the costuming! It totally deserves an academy nomination for that if not a win!
I could so relate to the tragedy of young Marie being traded off to a foreign land far from family friends language and familiar traditions simply to cement an alliance. I mean never mind friends or mementos she can't even take her own clothes!!
I loved the plot -it made perfect sense! Here's Marie in a foreign male-dominated court with few rights and denied even the respect she might have by her position as Dauphine because she hasn't become preggers. Worse still she gets blamed for it even though the problem is her husband can't do his duty - shall we say.
The part that was addressed but not done as well as the book was to show how truly precarious Marie's position was in a court when her marriage hadn't been consumated.
--never mind the personal anguish of being and feeling rejected. No wonder her parties were so OTT.
the only thing i didn't like was the anachronistic music. I mean honestly, the Classical period which the film depicts was filled with enough dramatic pieces that it should have been easy to find selections that fit the moods the driectors were trying to portray.
Now,, Zerit,,, have i convinced you? --or am i going to have to get serious with these feathers?
Many blessings,
Chickles
