Can anyone recommend a decent apartment/Townhouse in or around the Charlotte NC area? I'm asking for a friend who has a family of 3. They don't really want to move much more than an hour away from the Charlotte area. 1.5 hours max.

Charlotte North Carolina? Uh, depends dude. The really good neighborhoods are expensive and hard to get into. Also there are issues with racial discrimination when attempting to find a home in the good neighborhoods.
