I don't think that's new....apes have always been scientific objects when it comes to tickling because they seem to be the only animals who have an equivalent to laughter.

Actually its been proven rats laugh too its very high pitched and hard too hear

It's not new. Back in the 70s, it was found that a gorilla named Koko liked being tickled.

wether it's new or not is irrelevant, the apes like it.
