I don't think that's new....apes have always been scientific objects when it comes to tickling because they seem to be the only animals who have an equivalent to laughter.
It's not new. Back in the 70s, it was found that a gorilla named Koko liked being tickled.
This is not new. It was covered extensively in Robert Provine's book, published nine years ago. Nor was he the first scientist to study it, as the references in his book make clear.
