As I posted yesterday, I got an HP notebook to replace my crashed Acer computer.

When I came home last night, I was just browsing, and something caught my eye that I guess I hadn't paid close attention to,..

I was looking at prices for Apple notebook computers.. just.. for.. future reference..

Apples are.. expensive..,

Most of the prices for such.. are at least,., double.. then what I paid for this one yesterday.

Any insight from any of the more.. technical people on the forum.,. as to why the Apples are so pricey? What "features" do they have that make them.. worth such?

Thoughts?

You will get more computer for your money by buying a non-apple laptop. Apple is just overpriced.

LOL dentrag.

LOL Darth. I hope so. So far, this computer seems pretty good. Hope it stays that way.

We have a Mac lab in college where I study. Just Apple Macs stationed throughout. As far as I can tell, the Mac OS X is stable, robust, the Mac screen is incredibly vivid with bright bold colours, but I don't like how everything Apple is only restricted to just Apple. You don't have the freedom of customisation you get with Windows, or the endless amount of third party apps and software you can dig up on the internet that will always work on a PC. On a Mac it's almost always Apple software that you need to use for something, and at least half of what apple has on offer comes with a price tag.

Also, it might be just me, but find the Mac OS X's UI a bit clunky, like the settings and/or control panel. It doesn't seem as simple as Windows, in which everything is within reach. But perhaps it's just my own unfamiliarity with Macs, but I'm getting better at it 😀 .

Bottom line is, many Apple customers buy the brand, not the product. Jobs has built up the Apple cult to such an extent, that loyal customers refuse to believe that the company could commit any blunders.

LOL Boh. Funny.

Thanks, sonny.

Oh, and I confess. I do have an Iphone. It's a very old model, though, a 3G. I got it when I first moved to NY almost 3 years ago, and replaced that model with the same one when I lost it. Sometime down the road, I'll get a more updated Iphone, but not now.
