Are Redheads Unusually Ticklish?

A little while back I described how ticklish my friend Michelle's feet are. Something that has since caught my eye in chatroom discussions is the number of times that an extremely ticklish person is revealed to be a redhead.

Michelle has lovely redhead and, as described in a previous post, she has extradordinarily ticklish feet. Has anyone noticed that relationship? Please let me know if you've ever tickled a redhead - male or female - and found the soles of their feet to be unusually ticklish.

I dated a redhead for about eight months many, many moons ago, and she was off the wall ticklish. It was a lot of fun. She was the first person to ever "let" me tickle her senseless. Of course, she always got her turn as well.

Talk about tickle fights! 😀

It has been my experience that any size, race, nationality, or gender can be ticklish. I have found that no particular group stands out as more ticklish than the other. I am 43 and have been tickling females since I was 13 so I have a little knowledge to base this on. There has only been one redhead that I have ever tickled. She was incredibly ticklish but so were many of the others as well.

About redheads being more ticklish.

This one will be difficult to explain in english to me due to technical words but I´ll say what I can 🙂

Actually there is a study made on the matter of sensitivity and skin characteristics...more exactly...sensitivity and melanina production.

Apparently one of the conclusions of this study was in fact that the number of nervous terminations existing under your skin seems to be related with your melanine production.

So to conclude, there´s out there on the cience comunity a view stating that pain, ticklishness and others may be found somewhat in the same way that we find people who tend to get more damages from sun exposure. In this way...redheads would be the most ticklish, followed by blonds...and so on. But then again, we now that the eye collor as something to do with sun exposure damage on the skin so....may have also to do with ticklishness. Following that point of view people with brighter eyes would be more ticklish.

These are only teories lol

Everyone is free to think what he or she wants to 🙂 Statistics are of some value but everyone is unic and variations do ocure. Nature is much more criative than our statistic teachers lol....I´d love to say that to some of them hehehe

As to myself...I´m Portuguese with a predominance of latin, sout european info on my adn 🙂 so this means I can get pretty nice tanned at summer lol and in fact...I´m not that much ticklish on all the areas that can get so tanned. But my feet and armpits are quite ticklish heheheh....so...does this supports the teory.....maybe yes...maybe not.....

ahhh also have green eyes...so that´s probably why some days I get very very ticklish on my feet....or it may be because on those days I got tickled by a skilfull tickler.

I have tickled two readheads that I can remember, and both must have been as ticklish as it is physically possible to be. In fact, one of those was one of my most memorable experiences ever.
I think there are two types of tickling:
First, the type where poking, jabbing fingers seem to hit a nerve a bit deeper - Alot of people (including me) are really reactive to this touch on the hips and inner thighs.
Second, the type where light, flickering touches that barely make contact, dance over your skin. In my experience, this is where readheads really come into their own 🙂 Can you remember how you tickled your friend's feet?

I love girls with red hair. The girl who I really gave it to was the type with bright, ginger hair, rather than the voluptuous deep red haired type. She was really cute actually, with a cutel ittle nose like Ally Hannigan 🙂

This is a pretty interesting question,since I always seem to end up tickling all of the redheads that I meet at any of the Foot-Worship Parties(but will expand my horizons in tickling blondes,black hairs,brunettes,and Asians at any of the future FWP parties I'll attend),otherwise I find them to be just as either ticklish,or non-ticklish,as every other person.
I've also heard some folks saying that either Asians or blondes are the most extremely ticklish people,for anybody that can comment about that is most likely welcomed to,for everybody to share and learn about.

I don't know if there's any correlation to color, nationality or the like regarding one being more ticklish than the next. However, if there is any, being a redhead would have to be one of them. I have come across my fair share of non-ticklish females in my lifetime and not one of them was a redhead. I guess this would also blow up the theory that blonds are more fun! lol

I know it's sounds weird, but in my lifetime "every" redheaded woman I have known is extremeley ticklish, and especially the feet. Maybe it's the fact that redheads have lighter colored sensative skin and their nerve endings are more prone to touch? About 12 years ago I went out with a redhead and she could not have oral sex because it tickled her too much to have my tongue in that area!

One girlfriend I had in highschool was a light skinned, freckled redhead. Not a ticklish bone in her body. Believe me I tried! She knew that I love to tickle, but no reaction from her at all. She made up for it in other ways. ;-)
No, as far as I have seen, no correlation between hair, skin, or eye color and ticklishness.
If it were only that easy to tell! LOL

I've dated 4 redheads and have a few more as friends, and hands down every one of them has been more ticklish than any other demographic! I'm irish myself, so I'm thinking it's the fair skin but I lack the red hair so I guess I'm in the ballpark but not quite as ticklish, lol.

That is funny, I always thought brunettes were the most ticklish. That is if hair color can be used to gauge the level of one's ticklishness. If anything body weight and personality give off much better signs that one is ticklish then hair color does.

Personality I can see, but body weight? How would you then explain those fuller-figured ladies among the TMF(such as I, for the moment, though hopefully less so with each passing week) who are off the scale ticklish? 😛

From a full-figured auburn,haired, hazel eyed,fair skinned ticklee of Irish descent who is super ticklish.😀

One more Question tho:
Does the red-head theory hold true for men as well as women? I have only tickled one red-headed man( a mutual friend of my hubby's and mine... he's full blooded Scottish, looks like he shoulda been in Braveheart! lol😱) and he was jsut slightly ticklish across his belly. I HAVE tickled 2 blond men who stand out in my mind..one being my hubby, and both were extreamly ticklish(the otehr one I only tickled briefly, tho I hope to remedy that soon! ). IMHO I think that hyper ticklish people can come in any size shap, race, or physical characteristics, as can not ticklish.

There is a lovely lady who attends our West Coast Gatherings who is extremely ticklish and happens to be a Redhead but I also know another gal who is a Redhead and she's not ticklish at all.

I've seen this discussed at great lengths before.
Male or Female, Nationality, hair color, color of eyes, day of the week, weather, job, it all doesn't matter.

A person is either ticklish or not. They are either horribly ticklish or a little bit ticklish. It's all an individual thing that you can't guage by anything other than the person themselves.

There is no doubt that very ticklsh people come in all colors, all nationalities, both genders, all ages, all shapes, etc. On the other hand, my experience is that a higher percentage of redheads are highly ticklish than other colorings. When I was a kid the only kids I encountered, both boys and girls, who were as ticklish as I am or more ticklish than I am were redheads. My coloring is blond. I dated one of those redheaded neighborhood girls when I was older. She as well as her redheaded sister were off the scale ticklish. It is my personal experince, for what that's worth, that a high percenage of redheads are really ticklish whereas a smaller percentage of people in groups with other coloring are really ticklish.
