Well, it looks like the good teams are separating themselves from the rest of the pack. Looking at the Big Picture, do you think the Bears are as good as thier record? They've always had great defense, but now they are a legit deep threat as well.

Personally, I would be very close to saying the Bears are, as of now, the best overall team in football. The only thing that might not make that an easy 100% decision is the teams they've played...and the fact that Minnesota basically lost thier game against Chicago more than the Bears won it. They have wins against the likes of Buffalo and Green Bay...so does everyone else. However, they did manhandle Seattle. Was this a fluke or a look at great things to come?

If not Chicago, there are very few I'd consider the best in football. Conventional Wisdom says Indy, but they came this close to losing to the winless Titans. The Colts' utter lack of a run defense is starting to show, and when the season gets older, Peyton Manning will not be able to carry the team on his back as he has been. That being said, they always find a way, don't they?

Speaking of which, the Patriots could be a case for best team in football, mostly for that very reason. No matter what happens to this team or who they lose, it still all comes together. They aren't really great at any certain aspect of the game, but are solid enough at all of them to win games. Will it hold throughout the whole season?

Cincy took a beating against the Pats, but overall I think a good case could be made that they may be the best team in at least the AFC. What I saw in the Pats game was more of a fluke bad game than any sign of bad things to come. These guy have a great defense and Pro-Bowl caliber players at almost all offensive positions. However, like Indy, the run defense could come back to haunt them, especially in a division with Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

....or is it Baltimore? These guys, to me, seem to be the Bears of the AFC.

I cant say best team in the NFL but I think the Bears are the best in the NFC by far, that little bit of offense they have now seems to make them a complete team.

I don't follow the NFC as close as i do the AFC being a Chief's fan,but the Bear's seem to be playing great right now and if they get a home game or two in the playoff's will be hard to beat.If they have to go play the Seahawk's on the road it will be tough.I could see the Bengal's and Raven's in the AFC Championship game, would be a hell of a game i think.

I know for sure the best team in the NFL isnt the Raiders.........they are just terrible.

Da Bears are the best team in the NFL but don't jinx us cuz it's been 20+ years since we've had this much fun on Sundays.

Man I love my team! Baltimore has a great defense but their offense does not compare to ours and the Colts defense can't stop the run to save their lives. We are looking real tough. We'll see, a long way yo go.

of course, da bears will win it all and make it look easy.

If a team played the bears and was able to stay away from turnovers and play good D then they have a shot. Minnesota played them well and almost came up with a win.

DA Bearce currently are #1 rated for offense and defense, so yes, they are the best team in the nfl

"Bearce-203, san francisco 0"

baltimore is prolly the best

id have to say baltimore is the best team out there right now but its a long time til super sunday. injuries and such always change things as the season goes

the Bears are playing surprisingly well. could it be that Rex Grossman is healthy? remember, the last few years, Grossman has been hurt and the Bears offense was crappy. now he is healthy and playing well. the Bears will be a force to reckon with and they play in the NFC North, not exactly a strong division. i wouldnt be too thrilled over the Seattle victory because Shaun Alexander wasnt playing. this is will an interesting year in the NFC.

AFC? man, too many teams. Baltimore has a GREAT defense, but their offense still needs to work out kinks. Cincinnati is good, Denver is good, San Diego is good, Patriots are good, there are just too many teams. Indy's defense needs help. in fact, i need them to do well as i have Peyton Manning in fantasy football and teams are playing keep away from Manning. sucks...

The way chicago defense plays, shaun alexander as an aspect woulda been negligible. Seattle couldnt stop chicago's offense, even if alexander was in, maybe got a TD or 2, chicago still ends up winning. Seattle could not pass and when you are down points, your offense becomes 95% pass

Yes they are, until someone is able to show them otherwise

for ther longest time, the formula for the Bears was run the football, great defense. Now you add a healthy Rex Grossman, vertical passing game, and a even hungrier than ever defense, and you have a trip to Miami coming your way

Like it or not people, this team is the real deal, and the thought of having to come here in January is not a good thing

I actually agree with Natural. This is a dangerous team and will ( if they stay healthy ) represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Are the Bears the best? Well so far they have had a pretty easy schedule. The only real contender they've played was Seahawks. And they won! So these guys may be for real!

Right now, Super Bowl Colts vs. Bears. But things can change fast.

If I remember Chicago's quarterback has had problems staying healthy.

They haven't played anyone yet. They'll lose two of three to the Jets, Giants, and New England. And yeah I'm a Packers fan so im kind of just hoping. But there are four or five AFC teams better than the Bears and one or two NFC teams. I could be wrong though, their 41-10 win over San Fran was pretty convincing (not sure if that was the final by the way). I still believe they are overrated though, and I'd be willing to bet they will not get to the super bowl, let alone win it.

They keep on winning.......best record in the NFL...........I think they are heading to the Superbowl.

I knew it from the start of the season: We are superbowl bound.
