Are there black people in the Goth community?

Ok on the surface that may seem like a weird question, and I hope it doesn't come across as racist. I have been wondering about this for maybe a week, because I have never seen a black person depict a Goth on TV or in movies. So I was wondering if there are black people in the Goth community?

Yeah, there are. I've got friends in Florida who used to take me to a gothic club in Tampa, and we had some friends there who were black. I wouldn't exactly say it was common, but there were quite a few. I remember one big guy who had surgically implanted fangs.

Ok, thanks. And yes Aimee it was a serious question. Not a major serious question, I was just wondering. It had popped into my head the other day, and I thought this was one place I could actually find out.

Yes. I'm more of a rivethead than I am goth, but there's enough overlap between the two groups (and I go to enough goth clubs). I would say the amount of black people in the scene is about proportional to the number in the general public.

Considering Primetime's comment I would have to say you are right. Mind you I consider him to be more liberal minded then some, and generally and a pretty smart guy, who can look past the race aspect and just see is a a legitimate question, founded in general curiosity.
