I just wanted to give you something to think about next time you take a walk on a moonlit night.
Imagine you're walking down through the woods on a Autumn evening,a Harvest moon is rising in the distance. As you walk along you suddenly become aware that you're being watched. You see a dark figure moving in the bushes just out of reach of the fading daylight. You notice unwavering eyes watching you, yellow demonic eyes, not quite animal but at the same time not quite human either. You begin to fear for your life and start to walk away but as you do the figure begins to follow you, step for step, you're being stalked. You begin to run and as you do the beast is upon you,you feel its bite and your warm blood soaks your clothes, you hear a howl and the last thing you see is the face of the beast. I grew up listening to the legends, folklore of what my grandfather called the old country.I remember as a child hearing stories of Vampires, witches, all manner of monsters but the one that stood out most in my mind was the werewolf, for some reason the idea that a human being could be transformed into something so blood thirsty was more frightening than any of the other creatures of legend. It made me wonder years later, what if these creatures really did exist, how would you be able to convince anyone of it.My Grandfather believed these creatures existed infact not only did they exist in the old country he believed that they exist today in this country.
My Grandfather use to tell of a man in a neighboring village whom was said to have been cursed, the pentagram ( five pointed star )was suppose to appear in the palm of his right hand during the cycle of the full moon.According to my grandfather many young children from this man's village would disappear without a trace. My grandfather had letters written by a friend of his ( whom he had known since childhood that lived in that village,in one of the letters it spoke of the time of the blood moon when the beast would go on a murderous rampage. The man was eventually brought before a village counsel,he was found guilty of werewolfery, cannabalism and several counts of murder,he was put to death and his remain were set on fire and reduced to ashes.**************************
All the stories I heard as a child has made me think, what Lycanthropy isn't just a mental illness, which raises another question if werewolves could be real,
could there possibly be vampires as well? I don't mean blood drinkers or goths but real vampires, the living dead,in my grandfather's native tongue,The Nosferatu. For centuries people have believed that these beings exist. The blood of the living to quench the thirst of the dead.
