Ive just looked at all the articles on think tank about tickling. And Ive really felt worried about a lot of stuff i read. Are we wierdos do we need psychriactric treatment? Do we have this fetish bcos of some mistreatment from parents or some1 else during childhood? I really am disturbed. Ive tickled my brothers gf plenty a time but purely playfully, can I not help this. And more importantly can we be put in the same class as homosexuals have been put in? Sticking outlike a saw thumb? I am quite worried.

nooo not at all.. just think, we could be mass killers.. hey it's just a fetish, and rather a harmless one at that..i can't think of anything in my childhood that would have made me this way, except an overactive imagination.. don't worry, we are not weirdos.. when i think of the really sick people in the world today, by comparison we are mother theresa's...

Joe, I've met some people on here who wonder the very same thing. Hopefully someone didn't tell you that you were weird or anything.................because you're NOT! We like what we like. I certainly have no qualms about my tickling fetish. I treat it like any other fetish. Not that I'm going to shout it from the rooftops or anything, but I know I'm not weird. It's a matter of preference. Some people like bondage, some people like spanking.........we like tickling. What's the big deal? All of us on this forum have live some kind of a normal life. We have jobs, we have families....we just happen to like the same thing.

I would say some things classified in the weird category would be beastiality, child pornograpy...........things like that.

So, don't worry! And by the way.....the TMF is a place where you can share your love for tickling with the rest of us....don't be shy! You've found a great place!
 
"Weird" is something which is hard to define and is definatly opinion based. I'd say, yes we are weird for having a tickling fetish, if only because it's not something which is mainstream or even a common occurance. But that doesn't mean it's wrong.

Whilst some things that are weird are most definatly wrong, some things that are weird are also perfectly acceptable within modern society. I worry about this all the time and even wish I were "normal" and didn't have my fetish, but at the end of the day I don't have a choice and rather than letting it get me down I have to turn the tables and use it to my advantage.

Anyway, I'm rambling. One final point, whilst growing up I wasn't tickled that much by family and such (having not been ticklish much as a child), yet I've developed a rather strong tickling fetish.
 
Aaah, Joe, I remember a period of time when I thought I was wierd too. I thought that maybe I should try and get rid of my fetish, but one morning I woke up and realized it was normal for me to have a tickling fetish, like some people have a fetish about feet or bondage.

Your post reminds me of thoughts I had many years ago. Now, those thoughts, which are yours... THEY were WEIRD!
I always liked tickling peoples (what you said: I can't help) and before finding TMF I kind of thought that I was kind of weird...
Then the light: I discovered TMF and I found that, at least, I was not the only one on this world!
After that it took a little bit to educate myself, understand it and accept it as for what it is: a fetish. Which is not bad and does not categorize us as weirdos.
I am personally very happy with my life and my past, and met people from this forum that are fantastic. As Tamia said: we are "normal" people that share a passion for tickling. Period. And as for any personal like/dislike it is probably not something that you start a conversation with or speak with coworkers during the coffee-break.

what we are into isnt weird, and it is completely harmless. there are serial killers out there and wars and 3.00/gallon gas we have to worry about, being into tickling is NOT weird, everyone has their thing, and this is ours. peace.....

It's actually funny this question should come up. I actually am the author of a piece of creative work (please forgive me for being a big vague as to what precise genre I write) that explores the meaning of the word "weird" in relation to a fetish. Joeroberts, would you do me a favor and E-mail me at [email protected]? I'll share the specifics with you. haha a toothbrushing fetish community. bottom line, different people have different interests. tickling is just a fun, harmless interest that A LOT of us share. we like getting and giving some extra laughs. laughter, after all, is good for you. so i just look at tickling as something we all enjoy.

as italian mentioned it's a passion. just because it isn't accepted as the norm doesn't mean there's something wrong with it. it is unfortunate that many of us are uncomfortable about telling non-tk people, but it is who we are and people should accept that.

besides, it shouldn't matter to us what people think. what matters is what it means to us, what it means to YOU. don't let anybody tell you otherwise.

Is for "weird", we understand "uncommon", and if only what is "common" is "normal" then yes we are weird. Now if you mean it as "bad" well is not against the law, and if it not prohibit by law, then you are free to indulge.
Bad would be try to obligate everybody else to like our little "taste" for tickling.
Read again the four freedoms form FDR that I think TickleNemsesis put in her post everytime and be free of fear.

There are wierdos in all walks of life, in every fetish, in every town. Some of the topics on tickling is extremely disturbing, most of them are not.
