This sort of dovetails with the "tickle therapy" spa trend in Spain and elsewhere. It may or may not lead to any sort of tickling-bondage mainstreaming, but I recall a dominatrix who posted on here back in the day and talked about some of her female clients. These were Type A, professional women who were in control and stressed all day. They would come to her studio, get naked, and she would tie them upside down and tickle them from head to toe. Afterward, they would talk about how much better they felt after stressful workdays.

That was a very interesting article, but I would just like to point out that it is never a good idea to put someone in bondage and then leave them all alone. I am thinking they mean leave alone as in not bother them and not meaning walk away from them.
