So they only briefly talk about it, but actually have a pretty positive take on the tickling fetish. They're pretty open minded in general, so I was interested to hear their take on it. Kristen even says something like "after the tickle clip I kinda thought to myself if my current guy I'm interested in likes being tickled, it looks kinda hot."

Just thought it'd be nice to post a positive take on the documentary rather than all the negativity surrounding it. If the right people see it, and look at if from the right perspective, it might open their eyes to how it's actually pretty fun. I still haven't seen it myself so idk anything about it.

As for people having their eyes opened - we've had a handful of people approach us after screenings and tell us they've found themselves feeling aroused during the few tickling scenes... Essentially that we'd awakened a desire in them a little. A couple were quite adamant they were going to explore it more... Considering how few sessions we've attended and how much courage it would take to tell us something like that in person, I'm pretty sure we've opened quite a lot of eyes 🙂

The film is out on iTunes and Amazon Video in the US from November 1st, and will be pretty widely available in many places by mid-November.

Yeah I think you would've made everyone in the tickle community a bit happier if you didn't show only m/m tickling. Showing f/m, m/f, or f/f would've shown it as something erotic for everyone to enjoy, and I think you would've had the backing of the tickle fetish community a bit more. But I know that's not what you were really aiming for, just my two cents.

Sorry for late reply - I don't check in here that often.

We would have shown that if it what was relevant to the subject and company we ended up investigating. Ultimately the tickling is somewhat secondary in the film once we get into it. It does, of course, remain a constant presence, but it's not front and center.

It wasn't about providing wank material, or "promoting" tickling as a fetish. It was about how a seemingly innocuous tickling "contest" had a much darker and convoluted backstory, once they started investigating.
The contest was just the gateway into the real story.

But I think what he meant was that this film is probably our first entry into the mainstream, and he felt (like a lot of people in the community) that it may have distorted our image somehow, by showing a limited aspect of the fetish. Like I don't know, Klute which drew fire from the gay community, because they felt it reduced them to the "exotic leather fetish" niche. Or any Michael Moore movie that would portray the Americans as a bunch of racist gun-toting idiots and obese religious fundamentalists who hate each other ^_^

IMO it is quite awesome that we have the director here interacting with us. If I was even a bit interested in the movie, I'd ask him a ton of questions. Given the focus of his film, he could have skipped us entirely but he chose not to. Kudos to him, especially considering the amount of flak the movie received here on this forum.

Wait, are you saying Moore's portrayal isn't totally accurate? 🙂

There was a point very early in production where we actually imagined the film would also be more of an dive into the fetish a bit - we thought we'd need it to "pad out" the story. But as we got further in we soon realised that we weren't going to need to, or even really be able to, given everything that happened.

This and TKLFrat were the accessible places to talk to the community. And we were fairly anxious to avoid being perceived wrongly in our intentions (as much as possible) and to at least present the option for people to open a dialogue with us.
