Anyone done it? Discuss.

Also, nay sayers are not allowed in this thread. Onlty for those who have tried it, or are interested in trying.

I thank you humbly for the invitation. I astrally projected on Halloween, when I was hitting my friend's bong.

I used to astral project many times when I was a kid, and just thought it was something everyone was doing.
I just started doing it again, but have found it more difficult to get my "wings"back, so I've been using Hemi-Sync methods, and besides becoming a lucid dreamer again, I've had three solid OBE's
Nothing is better than knowing you are not really a body and OBES make that fact very clear to anyone who has them.

I myself, I'm working up toward projecting. I've done it once, involuntarily. I was actually on my way to a meeting, and hadn't gotten up yet. I got on the bus, I got on the train, got to the door, only to wake up in my bedroom, and realize I was late.

Balls.

But, now I want to do it on my own volition.

Actually, it very commonly happens to roughly 20% of pilots who take centrifuge training. This is a testable phenomenon of the effects of blood loss to the brain, not an OBE. 😀

Actually, you dream about 15-20 times a night. Remembering it of your own volition is another thing entirely. 😀

By the way, who wants to go vampire hunting!? I'll bring the stakes! I don't have any silver bullets, though, so if werewolves show up, we're completely fucked. Sorry fellas.

Mike Pinder ex member and founder of the Moody Blues said that he used to do it as a child and that he thought that everyone could until he found out differently. He also said that he still practices it to this day, but that it is harder to do as you get older and now he needs to put himself in a meditative state to do it. Listen to the Moody Blues song: Thinking is the best way to travel, it,s on youtube.

Nope, absolutely wrong. That centrifuge training does infact initiate a limited OBE by changing the frequencies of consciousness in the brain. I do the same when I astral project. You only need to adjust your tuning very slightly to visit a different reality.Don't believe everything you are told. Research Astral travel scientifically and experience it for yourself before making judgements.

Oh, how fascinating. I'm intrigued by how you say that "a limited OBE changes the frequencies of consciousness in the brain". Do you mean actual frequencies, or are you just being creative in your wording? The only reason I ask is because it's rather difficult to read electrophysiological data in humans who aren't epileptic. I was wondering if you could shed some light on this! 😉

Purplestyle...why are you doing this, you hot, sexy science troll?

I'm pointing out, if you alter your data stream in any way, you will experience different realities.
Think of your brain as a receiver that recieves conciousness, like a television that recieves signals from a station miles away. If you change the channel on your remote you will get a different picture. If you screw with the signal with things like drugs, disease or trauma, the signal gets fuzzy. Thats why its best to have an OBE with a clear head, open mind and no mind altering drugs.
All I can say is have an OBE for yourself before making conclusions.

Astral Projection... Talked about this a lot in the 60's. Basically it's a meditative state that claims you are having an outer body experience but in reality it's actually taking place in your own mind.

You are absolutely correct, it takes place in your own mind. Like I said, if you alter your data stream, you will experience different realities.
OBE's are in your mind and so are your dreams and even your waking state.
Many people believe there is an actual physical universe, but actually its just digital information being fed through a data stream to a holographic brain. Just another form of reality.
Don't get me wrong, its there , but its not real. Einstein knew it when he said, " Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistant one"
So if reality is an illusion (according to Einstein) then astral projection is quite possible.

Astral projection is fascinating. I've had an interest in it for awhile and even got a book by Richard Webster.

http://www.amazon.com/Astral-Travel-Beginners-Out-Body/dp/156718796X

My ex has my copy of it unfortunetly

What was cool about it was that the beginning actually talks about alot of interesting accounts of astral projection in history.

It's kind of funny that this is a topic on here today. I may have had a projection while napping. I was sick and I don't remember much but I felt like my spirit had separated from my body and was in the doorway of my room, I also remember trying to mentally escape my body beforehand. The whole thing was a tad hazy, like I was "feeling" the world around me.

go figure right?

I've had only a few OBEs out of the dream state, but I remember being accutely aware and able to fly around my room. Some people find it easier to project this way.
