I'm not good at posting links, but I just read in an article on Comcast sports.net that Houston Astros pitcher Shawn Chacon has been indefinitely suspended by the team for an altercation with Astros GM Ed Wade. According to the article, Wade and Chacon came in contact with each other in the dining room of the Astros ballpark, and, after an angry exchange of words between the two men, Chacon grabbed Wade by the throat, and threw him to the ground. Apparently Chacon was unhappy due to the team's decision to move him to the bullpen from the starting rotation, a move which occurred due to Chacon's poor pitching of late.
This is a disgraceful act. Chacon probably should be released, and charged with assault. There is no excuse for a physical altercation with anyone, ever, especially one of this nature.
I would appreciate if someone could please post the original article. Thanks.
Mitch
One Further note: I just came from the Astros website, and this incident is posted in a news article on the team's site, so according to two sources, including the team, this altercation did in fact occur.
