On February 6th at Tucson High School, senior Joe Kay was tackled by overly enthusiastic fans after topping off the night's basketball game with a slam-dunk. The tackle reportedly caused Kay to fracture his jaw and tear his carotid artery, leading to a stroke and partial paralyzation. Kay, who turned 18 the day after the incident, is a 4.0 student and has a full volleyball scholarship to Stanford in the fall. As of Monday, he remains in serious condition at the University Medical Center in Tucson. "When I left him (Monday), he gave me the thumbs up, as if to push everybody through this," stated his coach Gary Lewis. I hope he's OK
