I've been to many baseball games this season as my strength has returned. Most of them featured the Mets playing various teams.
Last night, I went to see my beloved Atlanta Braves play the Mets at Citi Field here in Queens, and let's just say that in spite of being beautiful weather wise, the Braves performance on the field was anything but beautiful.
The Mets walloped the Braves by a score of 13 to 5, hitting six home runs, including Pete Alonso's Mets record breaking 253 rd, as he is now the Mets all time leader in home runs.
Braves starter Spencer Strider pitched very poorly, allowing eight runs.
Earlier in the season, the Mets and Braves had played on just about even terms, until the Braves experienced injuries that have ruined their season.
The teams have two more games in this series, which I will be watching from the comfort of my own bed or couch. What I saw last night was quite enough for me.
Even though the Braves won't be making the MLB playoffs this year due to their subpar record, as they say, "There's always next year"
