ATTN: Mac user's - any format suggestions for tickle clips

We'd like to start offering Mac users clips, but would like to get a better idea what format you folks generally use. I've seen a few of my fellow clips4sale stores offer Mp4 (for Mac as well as Ipod) and a few offering quicktime. The rest seem to offer WMV for mac, requiring you to download a Mac "friendly" windows media player. I'd appreciate some input/comments. If any of you Mac users have downloaded our current clips, are you ahving any problems?

Well, the most universal one is probably mpeg. (Is that the same as mp4? I don't know.) Those should work for anyone. As far as WMV goes, there's a Microsoft player for Mac. What I prefer though, is something called flip4mac. See here:

It lets you play wmv files right in Quicktime Player. QTP works better than WMP, because it lets you jog through the movie, and if you click somewhere to move to another point, it starts right there instead of running for a few seconds before it "catches up" and actually starts displaying the video.

And there's .mov. I don't know if which of these formats is best.

I use a Mac. I can play virtually every mpeg (***.mpg) and Real Media file (***.rm), using QuickTime and Real Player. Windows formats can be more problematic. There is a version of Windows Media Player, which I found would play about half of the ***.wmv files. I, too, have recently started using Flip4mac, which allows Quicktime to play ***.wmv files.

As for players, my favorite is QuickTime. It offers more control features and a sharper picture than the others.

I forgot to add that Realplayer is the worst major format in my opinion.

I use both Mac's and PC's, I tend to prefer formats that are cross platform compatible.

Well, we opted for the quicktime format. Those of you ok with wmv can continue buying clips from our regular store, while those who prefer a more Mac friendly format can shop at our new Mac store:

use mp4. it works on both cuz it uses quicktime, which I like more than wmp anyways.
