While Ross was happy, almost relieved to be in OKC, and away from the problems at RossShell, Fritz and Steve could tell that Ross was not "Balanced" either emotionally, or physically.,
The men decided to do three separate shows, as close to the office as possible, look into no company buys, and then let Ross leave.
As if Ross did not have enough problems , Ross received two nasty emails from Tim, accusing Ross of "running away" from Ross's problems as Ross always did.
Tim told Ross that "I feel like, whether you like it or not, I make it mandatory that you go back to doing my work yourself, or I'm going to find another company to do my work!"
In the past, Ross would have told Tim to "Take Tim's attitude, and stick it where the sun don't shine"
With RossShell's current problems, Ross calmly replied. "When I get home, we will have lunch, my treat, anywhere you want to, you will air your grievances, and we will work them out together."
Tim accepted that answer, and said no more, as the men agreed to what Ross said, and Tim figured that he would leave Ross alone for the rest of Ross's trip, and that Ross would surely call Tim when Ross got home.
In the meantime, the three shows were no better than average. One hundred people showed up each day, with no more than 33 signups being the most in a day.
Ross felt somber. "I think that I dragged my problems from RossShell down here. I feel like I am bad luck. Maybe I should stick to doing Zoom shows for a while and come back in two or three months" Ross said quietly.
"You will do no such thing. We had a bad few days with signups. We've had them before, we had one now, and will undoubtedly have them again. Go home, forget about this trip. Do what you have to at RossShell. We will talk to you. You will join us for a Zoom show next month, and the following month, we will see what your situation at RossShell is" Fritz said.
"Thanks, guys. You two are mint" Ross said.
Ross called Kayley, told her that he would be home late that night., got on the plane to DFW and JFK, tried to forget about the terrible three days he had in OKC, and not to think about his upcoming meeting with Tim.
Ross crawled into the apartment, looking like a tired, beaten man. Kayley was resting. Ross went into his closet, discarded his clothes, and slowly got into bed quietly.
Kayley opened her eyes.
"Hi" Ross said weakly.
"You sound and look terrible. What's the matter?" Kayley said.
"Oh, we had three awful shows in OKC. Then , to boot, Tim sent me a nasty text saying that he demands to meet with me ASAP when I get home. Tim made it sound like he wants me to do his work personally again. I have to meet with him and hear him out, Kale. Love the man or hate him, he's still my largest client. While we had our agreement not to be involved in business, maybe Tim feels cast aside or forgotten about. Until I let RossShell go, sell it, or it goes under, and or until Tim decides to retire and or sell his company, I represent him, and I'm responsible for his affairs, whether an account manager does them or I do them myself. Let me just see what he has to say" Ross said.
Kayley sighed. "The stress keeps mounting. I'm seriously worried about you. How do you feel, the truth?" Kayley said, calmly but directly.
"Very tired, a bit beaten, a bit down, but I know that I will find a way out of it. It may just be rocky for a while. All people in business go through this. Let me find out if Tim wants to meet tomorrow or the next day, and then see" Ross said.
Kayley took Ross. "Lie here with Kale, and let her soothe your pain. I hear she;'s a good soother" Kayley said.
Ross barely slept, remembering Tim's two nasty emails, and knowing that trouble was coming from Tim,.
The next day was Friday. When Kayley awakened, she had a day off from watching summer school, as it was a holiday.
"I dont think you should go in. You look like you're at your wits end:" Kayley said.
"Let me face it. I cant avoid it" Ross said.
Ross called the office. "Am I needed today? I just got home from a bad OKC show?" Ross said.
"I think you should come in, Ross, problems here" Vic said.
Ross sighed. "Okay, I will be in by ten"
Then came another text from Tim. " If you're home, I want to see you today. We need to discuss my affairs"
"Going into the office, for a bit, meet you at Shun Lee at one" Ross said.
"Okay, we have a lot to discuss" Tim said.
"You will have my full attention: " Ross texted back.
Ross dressed in dark grey suit for what was likely to be a long, difficult day.
Would Ross find a way out of his problems, or would he have more problems heaped on?
That would be seen.
