Bad blood-this sunday

Does anyone find it weird, that the match between triple h and shawn michaels is getting more hype than the championship match benoit vs. kane. I think benoit is dropping the title this sunday. Maybe the wwe is having trouble developing storylines for chris.

Its either that or they want to give Kane more of a push. I've always liked Kane, before and after he took the mask off. I think he'd make a good temporary champion, but not a reigning one. Or, he needs to be even more of an antagonist than he already is and needs to seem indomiditable and like he's running the show (like Triple H was) until someone can come along and beat him fair and square.

Also, I can't watch RAW anymore since I currently don't have cable anymore, but whats going on between Lita and Kane? Can anyone fill me in? It seemed maybe they had a secret relationship or that Kane was blackmailing her or something.

Kane supposedly has a bad left thigh that he's been working thru, so I doubt he'll end up with the belt Sunday. Plus it looks as if Benoit will have 2 matches at the PPV, the other involving the tag team belt with Edge and La Resistance. He'll probably lose in the tag team match but retain the title belt so ol' J.R. can go off about the "endurance of this kid".
As far as the HBK/Triple H match......ZZzzzzzzz!!!
Been there, done that.
They'll probably do one of their "return" matches on RAW the next night.

Ok guys, a little update:

Benoit will beat Kane, to set up the showdown between him and HHH at Summerslam, where there he is expected to drop the belt. Shawn Michaels will lose the Hell in the Cell match, because he will go on an extended leave afterwards. The Rock will come back for a while, because partly his movies are doing really well at the box office, and also because to help ratings. that is all for now.

Wow, that really sucks. But it sounds alot better than whats going on on Smackdown. Is it just me or has Smackdown been really bad since the draft? It seems like RAW has the better talent and more action/humor/etc.

I'm tired of Eddie and though I like the smugness of the new JBL, I'm getting tired of him too. I'm talking as performers I'm getting tired of them. Their acts are ok though.

The only thing I look foward to on Smackdown is seeing the Undertaker. But they keep on stressing how "special" and "rare" his appearances have been and will be. It kind of makes you wonder how much longer he'll be around. I hope this blackmailing Paul Heyman is using on the Undertaker isn't some sign thats it over now.

And on that topic, I would rather see Taker with Paul Bearer, BUT I wouldn't want old school Taker's integrity compromised. Thats a line that shouldn't be crossed, with the old school Taker. So if he does join forces with Heyman, that will be a career low for him, even though he's doing the right thing, sort of. I, as a fan since childhood, wouldn't want him to go out this way. He's been the heel before, but he's been known to do the right thing most of the time. Michael Cole refers to him often as "the conscience of the WWE". I hope that remains true.

I hope they don't screw his remaining time in the business up.

I doubt we'll see Taker turn heel.I personally think he's gone back to being the Dead Man because he realizes his career's winding down and wants to do a run with the character that made him.

As for Sunday,I can't see Benoit dropping the belt yet.And definately not to Kane, nothing against Kane, but I don't think he could carry the belt.

smackdown has been boring. Chavo classic?come on

Me watching smackdown:zzzzz:

Urrrrrrrggggggggh JBL. He shouldn't be anywhere near a main event. Did anyone hear how he did the "Heil Hitler" salute at a show in Germany? Forgive me if I am wrong, but is that not a crime in Germany? In any case, it is a poor way to attempt to get heel heat.

Really? Is that true? But then again, he does that other symbol with his hands, and thats long been considered by some a satanic gesture, even though its commonly used for other reasons.

i don't really watch wrestling as much as i used to. i have kind of grown out of it and moved on to New and other ''interests'' but i sometimes watch it everynow and then on tv.

But just to let Celtic or anybody else know that is interested.

I hear Bradshaw's "nazi salute" got him fired from CNBC and he'll be meeting with Vince about the situation.

Drew

Yeah, JBL got fired for that by CNBC. They said that they didn't want to be associated with him because of it. And yes it is true, I have seen pictures of him doing the salute. He did the salute and was goosestepping about in a poor attempt to get a crowd reaction. The biggest problem that JBL will have is that anything Nazi-related is a crime in Germany, if I recall correctly.

It is a crime, but in the context of "pro wrestling", that was pretty much smoothed over for JBL in Germany, according to the word on most wrestling sites.
The problem here is that outraged people are calling for more media attention to this story, and it's working.
How will this affect what Vince decides? Either way, good or bad, the WWE gets publicity. The question is, will Vince do like he did with the "Montreal Screwjob" and turn this into an angle?

I think Beniot is a great champion and about time that he is getting the recognition that he deserves. Kane, IMO does not draw that much heat and I classify him to be a mid-carder at best.

If and that's a very big IF Kane gets the title, I see him dropping it by the time Summer Slam rolls around, or perhaps the Survivor Series at the extreme latest....I do not see him keeping the title beyond that, simply because he is not championship calibur.

I think the whole "draft" thing is assinine. It would have been better to have kept the WCW franchise going with each having their own respective champion, with one world champion between them.

Kane is a good draw as a "threatening challenge", but i don't see him being able to draw a crowd as champion.
I think WWE is gonna use it's head for once, and build a solid base for Benoit as champion. He's got the goods, the crowd loves him, and he puts on one hell of a match.

PLUS!!!!!

Now that Benoit and Edge lost the tag titles, they're now building friction between the two for a future series of matches, which should be really good.

Shawn Michaels has confessed to being a born-again Christian and one of the stipulations upon his return to WWE is that he would not use profanity nor would he allow himself to be placed in any angle that he felt was non-Christian (quite a few yrs back, Michels was in an angle in which he allegedly slept w/the British Bulldogs wife)

Ted Dibise is now heavily involved in missionary work

Molly Holly visits prisons preaching the Gospel

Tully Blanchard (last I heard anyway) was a pastor at a church in Texas.

There are many rumors (and i repeat rumors) that Shawn's 'born again' self is just another way for him to get what he wants backstage. I hope he's honest, because nothing sickens me faster than someone using religion for personal gain.

As for Dibiase, he wrote an excellent book awhile back about his career and how he found God in the process. It's a really good book, and I recommend it for everyone.

What purpose would it serve to pretend to be a born again Christian? He works for Vince McMahon, with whom I doubt cares if Michaels is a Christian or not.

Who knows? But apparently, other wrestlers backstage seem to think so.

While I do agree with that, I think alot of the problem was in making things exclusive (IE- RAW has the divas and Smackdown as the Cruiserweights). Its because of mistakes like this that both brands end up suffering.

Smackdown is horrible right now. It was far better before the draft and there really aren't any plot points to speak of except for the good old rich white man holding the minority down. People really sympathize with that, but its been overdone with those two, Eddie and John I mean.

Smackdown needs something new, and not just some new japanese wrestler. The whole business needs more Undertaker-ish people, meaning simply that we need people that can make as much an impact as he has. It seems like more mediocre people are entering the business. I don't doubt their love or commitment, or even their talent, but alot of these guys and gals just don't have the 'essence' of a good character.

Triple H and the Undertaker, I think, are the two best men in the business who bring out the best in their characters and in how they go about their business. We meed more talent, but we need more, dare I say, acting ability. The wrestlers really need to play the part they were called to, if they were. Alot of them seem to just be slacking off and simply don't care anymore about how they portray their character to the audiance.

All the new "JBL" gimmick is, is a re-hashed "Million Dollar Man" gimmick, if you really look at it. All he needs now is Virgil.

LOL, yeah, thats actually true. Whose Virgil again? I don't recall a Virgil? Was he that black man that hung around with the Million Dollar Man, or am I thinking about someone else?

I thought this the moment the whole JBL thing came about. He's the Million-Dollar Man of the new millennium. I kind of like his gimmick, but I don't think it's enough to support Smackdown. There doesn't seem to be any legitimate feuds going on besides that one. They need to push John Cena a bit more, among others, and that Mordecai guy catches my attention, but it seems like they're moving too slow with him. I'm a little worried that he'll get about as little of a push as Gangrel and the Brood did, though. Seriously, I think RAW definitely benefitted more from the whole draft.
