Bad Weather On The Way..

I'm very sorry about the forum members who are/will be affected by Tropical Storm/Hurricane Arthur, but, from what I've heard, NYC is going to have our own serious weather problems the next 48 hours.

Today is a very hot, humid day, and heavy storms are expected tonight. Then, more heavy storms are expected all day tomorrow, tomorrow night, and into Friday, from a front interacting with moisture from Arthur. Supposedly, up to 3 inches of rain is forecast to fall, with flooding possible.

Hopefully, everything will be okay. This would seem to be the most rain, since Hurricane Sandy affected the East Coast in the fall of 2012.

We've had severe storms tonight, with heavy rain, and dangerous cloud to ground lightning. Hopefully, it is starting to calm down, at least for tonight.

Might as well post it in this thread. There are strong to severe storms in Pennsylvania, headed straight for NYC, which should be here by 10pm. It was very hot and humid today. Hopefully the storms will cool off the weather.

At least four people were killed in my region last night when vicious storms blew through causing houses and buildings to collapse, and apparently unlike last week there weren't even any tornadoes.

Almost all of our local TV stations had preempted everything for live coverage and advising residents in the affected areas to seek secure shelter immediately, but evidently not everyone heeded the warnings or could.

That's terrible.

Of course, as I've posted before, I watch WPVI from Philadelphia's newscast online every night. Last night they said there were many people without power from the storms.

It really didn't seem like much happened here.

The storms knocked out the hot, humid weather.. Today is a clear, beautiful day, with temps only in the low to mid 80s expected in NYC, after the low to mid 90s highs of the past couple of days.

Glad you made out O.K. And they've just confirmed that it was a tornado up here after all that brought those houses down and killed those people, including a baby and mother. 🙁
