Ballerina fired for being too fat

Anastasia Volochkova, an ice-cream lover and one of Russia's best-known ballerinas, has been arguing with Moscow's Bolshoi Theater. The theater destroyed her contract, claiming that the 5'7 and 110lb ballerina is too heavy and too tall for most of her dance partners to lift. Though ballerinas are known for having to constantly watch their weight, Volochkova claims that she can't imagine life without ice-cream. Apparently, the Bolshoi Theater can imagine life without her. Good for her!

110 pounds was considered fat for a woman who stands 5'7"? Good God, what did they think was the proper weight for her?

I would say 135 to 145 pounds is a good weight for a woman of that height.

she is obviously a victim of discrimination against the weight and height challenged ballerinas of this world. i smell lawsuit!
