Barry Zito has now won his 11th straight start and San Fran has won the last 16 games he has started including the playoffs. That's the longest run of wins by a San Fran pitcher since 1936.

Zito also has two series rings and a Cy Young award. Yeh, he's overpaid.. HAHAHA.

Maybe the Mets can pay Santana (who now makes more than Zito) another million to sit the bench.

Despite the Giants winning 10-0, Zito gave full credit for the win to the OFFENSE.

I know it's baseball and things change on a dime. It's a very long season. But honestly, I wouldn't care if Zito retired tomorrow. He has nothing left to prove. Especially to Mets fans who screamed he was overpaid when they refused to sign him to a large 7 year contract. The Mets now have Santana who they are paying more than Zito is making these days.

Good luck with that..

Given your emphasizing his previous start, it is worth noting what Barry Zito did yesterday, April 16th.
His pitching line:
IP: 2 2/3
H: 8
R: 9
ER: 9 :rowfull:
BB: 2
SO: 5
HR: 2

Way to go, Barry. Do it again!

Everybody has a bad day Mils. I'm sure he'll have plenty more, and regardless of the fantasy land Dodgers fans live in, you can't erase his past 11 straight wins *cough* including the playoffs and series. You do remember what those words mean, right? Playoffs and series? You might need Marty McFly to see the last time the Dodgers were in the series..

If I were you, I would be more concerned with pitching problems in LA. The Dodgers make my bet look better every day! All that money and such great results.. wow.. Do it again, Dodgers!

I hate the hated jints and I always will. They are evil incarnate, period.
May God grant that their pitchers have many, many days like Zito's shown above.
People think I am joking when I speak like this, but they are wrong. I am quite serious.

Steven Booth is a stupid moronic asshole who is unfit to lick the excrement out of Tommy Lasorda's rectum. I'm not surprised that you link him.

Aaah the truth hurts sometimes. Good article. Reminds me of what the Dodgers are all about.

It is neither true nor does it hurt. It is merely the insane rantings of a stupid, brainless imbecile named Steven Booth.

The world is a worse place because Steve Booth was born. The world will be a better place when he dies, and the sooner that happens, the better.

Once again, I'm not surprised at all that you linked to his writing.

LOS ANGELES -- In a surprise to many, Clayton Kershaw got hit around by the San Diego Padres. In a surprise to few, the Los Angeles Dodgers couldn't come up with clutch hits.

I hear there's a broom sale in San Diego.. a reminder that every pitcher has a bad day.

Zito has nothing left to prove, especially to Dodgers fans.

What's that Mils? No line score from Zito today? Hmm..

Barry Zito vs San Diego

B Zito 7 IP, 5 hits, zero runs, 1 walk and 4 Ks.. ERA 3.42

San Diego.. San Diego.. hmm.. wasn't that the team that smacked around Kershaw for 3 homeruns in only 5.1 innings? The same Padres that swept the Dodgers?

Again, Zito has nothing left to prove, especially to Dodgers fans.

The only thing more disgusting and lower than a gloating fan of the hated jints is a murderer of children.
Welcome to my Ignore List. Congratulations, you are the first person to be put on it due to posts in the Sports Forum.

I went to Citi Field and couldn't figure out why they retired Butch Huskey's # 42?

Some people can dish it out but they can't take it. Too bad the Dodgers couldn't just ignore the Giants. There's another broom sale for you.

Today, Barry Zito pitched in relief, facing one batter and striking him out, for a perfect 1/3 of an inning.

But now that the season is over, instead of looking at individual games, let us look at the whole season.

Here is how Barry Zito did in 2013:

Wins, 5.
Losses, 11.
Earned Run Average, 5.74 (No, that is not a misprint. ERA 5.74)
WHIP (walks plus hits per inning pitched), 1.70 (Not a misprint either, WHIP 1.70)

If he stays with the putrid hated motherfucking jints filth, then I hope he repeats this kind of pitching again next year.

If he moves to another team, then I don't much care how he pitches.

and yet.. he still has won twice as many World Series Championship rings in just the last 3 years (that's not a misprint) than the Dodgers have won in over two decades (no, that's not a misprint either).

I'll say it yet again, Zito has nothing left to prove to the turd blue.

I'll say it one more time, so that even fans of the putrid motherfucking hated jnts can understand it:

The L.A. Dodgers have won 5 World Series Championships and the putrid motherfucking hated S.F. jnts have won 2.

Zito had an awful year in 2013, well below the average starting pitcher in MLB.

Agreed Barry Zito had a horrible season and will likely not be resigned after this season by the Giants. That said, his last start as a Giant was a 6-4 victory over the dodgers, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits over 5 innings. The win helped ensure that despite a horrible season and losing record, the Giants still defeated the dodgers in head to head games in 2013.

I will miss Zito. A Cy Young winner with the Oakland A's and 2 time World Series Champion with the San Francisco Giants, I always admired his competitive nature and his giving to the community. While injuries played a significant role in his tenure with the Giants it was good to see him leave with 2 World Series Championships - and personally satisfying to see his last start as a Giant result in a loss for the dodgers.

Overall, the Giants have 7 World Championships going back to the NY Polo Ground days. Compared to Dodgers six. The classic in '55 in Brooklyn and the 5 in Los Angeles - the 50s and 60s and the 81 and 88 teams.

Boring historical perspective aside..

CLAYTON KERSHAW starts tonight!!! GO DODGERSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

I am glad you recognize reality.
I recognize reality, too, for example that Matt Kemp spent most of the year injured and did not earn his large salary.
Tonight is the time for the Dodgers to try to beat the Braves, and for Zito, if he so wishes, to watch that game on TBS.

Agreed, GO DODGERS! :bouncybou

Kershaw is a beast. Some rate him the best pitcher in baseball in the 2013 season.
