Baseball Prediction Finishes 2010

Well, the Braves have now officially fallen out of first place in the NL East, after blowing a seven game lead. Shameful! It wont surprise me in the least if the Phillies win the NL East. I said at the beginning of the season that I thought they would win it, in a cakewalk. Now, it will be interesting to see if the Braves can get the wild card.

I'm not so much upset that the Phillies are in first place, as I am that the Braves blew a seven game lead in the NL East. I know that teams have blown big leads before, but the Braves blew this one in a very short period of time. I'm probably getting mine for taunting Mets fans, about the seven game lead the Mets blew with 17 games left in 2007. If Atlanta doesnt rebound to win at least the wild card, I will now know how Mets fans felt.

Well, my predicition of the Phillies finishing first in the NL East came to pass. Now we'll see if the Braves can hang on to the Wild Card. With their win last night, Atlanta leads the NL Wild Card by half a game.

My prediction of the Phillies in first in the NL East, and the Braves as the Wild Card, came to pass. Besides that, I missed it with my predictions.

As for postseason: The Giants should beat the Braves, and the Phillies should beat the Reds in the NLDS.

The Yankees have slumped lately, but I'm going with a prediction of a Rays/Yankees ALCS.

One thing has changed since my predictions in April, the NL has home field advantage in the World Series, which they havent, since 2001, I believe. Right now, with the way the teams are playing, I'm thinking it will be a Phillies/Rays World Series, and that the Phillies will win in seven games.

Again, just hunches. We'll see how it pans out.
