So how do you all see the 09 MLB season playing out, who are your favorites in each division? Also what are your anwsers to the following questions? (optional):

1. Whats next for the Rays?

2. Can the Phillies defend their title?

3. What impact will the Yankees spending spree have?

4. How will A-Rod's revealtions affect him and the Yankees?

5. When will Manny sign?

So the floor is all yours.

1. Whats next for the Rays?

Sophmore slump. Reality check.

2. Can the Phillies defend their title?

They CAN. Probably won't.

3. What impact will the Yankees spending spree have?

Seats in their new stadium will remain expensive for some time.

4. How will A-Rod's revealtions affect him and the Yankees?

They will suck no less. He will continue to be a massive choke artist.

5. When will Manny sign?

No idea. Though it will be with a Mexican league team. They will not pay him monetarily and he will accept. It will still just be 'Manny being Manny'. 😀

Also:

-Pirates will stink (and break the losing seasons record!)
-Mets will collapse
-No NL West team will win more than 84 games
-Stadiums will go half empty or more, due to the economy and continual Steroid/HGH controversy
-Teams will hemmorage money (giving the Marlins an excuse to gut their team again 😀 )

So how do you all see the 09 MLB season playing out, who are your favorites in each division? Also what are your anwsers to the following questions?

Yankees are the favorites obviously in the AL East (even Vegas odds have them at 3 to 1 odds. The AL Central is a grab bag but I predict the Twins to take it. The AL West will probably go to the Angels even though they've downgraded big time from last season. The NL East is obviously going to the Mets. The NL Central is obviously going to the only good NL team, the Cubs. And the NL West is right now in the hands of Arizona unless the Dodgers get Manny then they have an outside shot.

1. Whats next for the Rays?

3rd place with 90 wins.

2. Can the Phillies defend their title?

They first have to make the playoffs at all. Mets will obviously take the division now that they finally have a bullpen. The Phillies have 2 good players in Hamels and Utley. The rest is overrated or suck. Howard is an Adam Dunn ripoff with his striking out or hitting a HR each time. Rollins is the most overrated player in the game. Lidge won't repeat. etc.

3. What impact will the Yankees spending spree have?

It'll probably give them the best record in baseball except for maybe the Cubs. And the Yankees will do this with a lower payroll than last season amazingly enough.

4. How will A-Rod's revealtions affect him and the Yankees?

Probably make him perform better now that he has a lot to work for.

5. When will Manny sign?

Next season.

1. Whats next for the Rays?

2nd place in the AL east. The Red Sox are a year older, but not a whole lot better. I think they'll be in the running all year long, but in the end Tampa's young players, centered on Longoria, who will be an MVP candidate, will be the difference between them and the Sox. The Rays have good pitching, and the mentality that can keep a team hungry all year long.

2. Can the Phillies defend their title?

Sure, they've got the talent. However, K-rod and Putz in the Mets pen means there probably won't be an epic choke job to hand the Phillies a playoff spot, so the pressure is on Rollins and Howard and the rest to win the division, as opposed to the Mets losing it again.

3. What impact will the Yankees spending spree have?

An AL east title, and probably a World Series appearance. Everybody wants to talk Sabbathia and Burnett, but the most important pickup was Texiera. Switch hitter, Gold glove caliber first baseman, and a nasty bat to protect the other hitters around him. 95 wins, in a great division race with two other possible playoff teams (Rays and Sox)

4. How will A-Rod's revealtions affect him and the Yankees?

Probably negatively, if seasons past give any indication. He's a head case, and between this hip injury garbage and the steroids scandal, i'm betting he doesn't hit his stride until mid may to early june. That being said, barring a serious injury, he'll get 40 hr's and 120 rbis. In that lineup, it'd be shocking if he didn't.

5. When will Manny sign?

Today, according to ESPN. (He's a jackass. Turning down 45 million dollars for two years of baseball because part of it was deferred? He's just another one of the morons who listens to his agent and ignores all other factors around him)

Just for fun, a few other predictions...

AL
East- Yankees
Central- Tigers
West- Mariners
WC - Rays

NL
East- Mets
Central- Cards
West- Dodgers
WC- Phillies

AL MVP- Mark Texiera, Yankees
NL MVP- Manny Ramirez, Dodgers

AL Cy Young- Josh Beckett, Red Sox
NL Cy Young- Branden Webb, D backs

Now that Manny is back with the Dodgers for this year (and maybe 2010), I can predict that we (the Dodgers) will win the 2009 World Series. 😀
