Alright, once again baseball season is right around the corner, and could there be a better time of year? The weather gets warm, girls start wearing sandals again (and slipping their feet in and out of them in class) and we have the great American past time to look forward to! Just curious what kind of baseball fans we have out there in the forum? I personally am a (diehard) Mets fan...

Haha alright, mostly national leaguers so far, with an emphasis on the Cubs it seems. Could be a big season for them huh Natural and Gremio? With the addition of Soriano, and maybe some (unfortunately rare) health from Wood, Prior and recent addition Floyd, they could certainly be a team to contend with

If you're counting on Wood and Pryor, come here. I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to see if you want to buy.

I'm actually rooting for some other old guard team to win it all. I like the trend...Red Sox, White Sox, Cards. Cleveland would be nice.

As for the Phillies, I'm so tired of their underachieving that the only thing I'm counting on is getting heartburn from a hot dog at the game.

Yeah Knox, i don't know if you are a Phillies fan, so I will keep my opinions to myself, but I think guys like Jimmy Rollins should keep their yaps shut. He pointed out the obvious by saying that the Met's pitching staff is old...we all know how old Glavine and Hernandez are, but he seems to have forgotten that the Phillies traded for and resigned Jamie Moyer who is like 75, and Jon Lieber is older than El Duke anyway...and then he seemed said the Phillies are the team to beat in the East, obviously forgetting that they finished 12 games back of the Mets last year....big words from a guy who has never even batted .300 even with a 38 game hit streak

Well, no one ever made a case for Jimmy Rollins being a serious candidate for MENSA. Verily, the pitching do sucketh. As usual, the mighty breast rises, and will descend by the second week of April.

I'm thinking of heading down to Viera. I figure, with the opening casting call going on to staff the Washington Nationals pitching staff, I have as good a chance as anyone...

I figure if I make it, I can count on at least two or three wins against the Braves, who should continue to count on the vendors, the valet parkers, and the two or three tour buses from Macon or Chattanooga to boost attendance at the Ted.

Mets,

with the starting pitching a big ???? At this point, I am NOT counting on Pedro coming back from his rotator cuff operation. If he does, it will be gravy. I am hoping Glavine makes at least 30 starts and El Duque regains his form as a big game pitcher. I am also hoping John Maine builds on last year, and Mike Pelfry continues to devlelop. If the starting 5 can average a 4.00 ERA, and with the Mets starting line up with Beltran, Delgado, Wright, and Reyes, they will win more games than they lose. Look for them to go for Dontrell Willis right before the trading deadline in July.
