Battling Pneumonia

So ive been sick for about a month it feels like, for anyone that doesnt know what Pneumonia is, your lungs fill with fluid, fortunately I went to the local Doc soon enough to where I got a presciption which helped alot, I mean I feel 100x better, but Pneumonia is no joke, it started out as a basic head cold then quickly escalates from there, to put it into perspective this is like week 3, week 1 it was minor head cold and by week 2 I was nearly hospitalized. Ill spare some of the more gruesome details, but its no walk in the park when your ears start to feel 90% blocked, and your having side effects like your stomach is constantly upset in many more ways then one no matter what you do.

I've had pneumonia before and it is no joke. The best thing to do about it is to just try to be proactive about health - flu shot, take your vitamins, keep warm when it's cold, wash your hands, stay away from sick people. I had a shitty immune system growing up so I was sick a lot and it was very easy for a small cold to become something worse. I try to do what I can now to stay healthy, but it's not always easy lol

By way of prevention, the CDC advises everyone over 65 or with certain medical conditions to get one or both of two pneumonia vaccines: http://www.cdc.gov/features/adult-pneumococcal/

Ask your doctor about taking a pneumonia vaccine. Yeah, even I didn't know they came out with one until I got pneumonia and went to the doctor. I also didn't know I had to get a tetanus shot once every ten years. 🙁

Huh. I didnt know about either. Then again I dont go to the Doc very often,
generally speaking Ok only get sick like once in a Blue Moon, I havent had
a shot since I was like 5, lol, I hate needles, but will do, Thanks.

I highly recommend getting the pneumonia vaccine as well as a tetanus shot and the yearly flu shot as well. As for hating needles, well, everyone on the planet hates needles dude. 😉
