There is a professional beach volleyball tournament here in NYC, June 8th to 11th.
I enjoy watching the women's bracket, although I don't care who wins.
The venue is Piers 25 and 26, in lower Manhattan adjacent to the Hudson River.
General Admission is free; you pay for a VIP box if you want one.

Indeed it is. What could be bad about watching tall, athletic, barefoot women in bikinis?
I will be back there today for the semi-finals and finals. 😀

I was there again today (Sunday) for the women's semifinals and finals.
Some photos are below. The photo on the right shows the Hudson River. The venue was on a pier over the River. Occasionally a ball went so far out of bounds as to land in the River. Such balls would float and be retrieved as souvenirs by people in kayaks or canoes.

Incredibly, the tournament was won by a pair that included a player who dislocated her right big toe in the semifinal match and was playing in pain and limping during the finals, April Ross. She is the taller woman, blonde, in the photo in the center.

The winners got $18,000 and second place was worth $11,500. The losers of the semifinals, who did not play a match to determine 3rd/4th place, each got $8,000. (Some money was paid down to 16th place.) So beach volleyball is not a big money sport like baseball or basketball.
