Hi folks,

Got a new graphics tablet at Xmas and been learning digital drawing. Suffice to say that I've a lot to learn.

But on the upside my Heroine Defiant picture is miles better than my Tools picture from a while back (On paper and scanned in), whilst I think that Native Booty I painted today far better than the Heroine Defiant picture I painted yesterday.

Still watching tutorials and trying to get better. lots to learn like drawing clean lines, adding backgrounds, using layers properly, adding light effects, shading, highlighting, etc. Am also incredibly slow right now as on the start of the learning curve.

Shamelessly based on tracing photos as a start point, but I'll cheat where I can.

I'm open to any ideas that you guys may have for further pictures to practice my skills.

Cheers,

MM

Well that is a superb start. Thank you for sharing your art and I look forwards to seeing more from you.

Thanks Viewmaster.

Added another pic that I knocked up in a couple of hours.

Still lots of room for improvement. But at least my basic line work is tidier.

Am potentially open to requests, as long as they're relatively simple.

Regards,

MM

Thanks Milagros.

I've added a new pic where I've played with air brush and blending.

Follow up due as soon as I can.

Looking good.
And there is no shame in tracing when starting out. It’s a great way to learn where things go and building muscle memory.
When you’re tracing, try and look for the overall 3D shape of what you’re drawing. Finding reference photos with hard lighting will help.
Keep up the good work!

Thanks Dr Random (And Randomguy),

Big fan of yours.

Managed another 5 pics today (posted in a new thread). Still learning the ropes.

Am going to go back to basics now and drill faces and do some basic non tracing artwork. Got stuffed a couple of times when I was trying to add details to a traced pic, or create original things.

Regards,

MM
