I don't have to be intimate in order to be more ticklish. Playful things make me more ticklish. Like if I know I'm going to be tickled, and I have no escape route, or if I'm held down, I automatically go into hyper ticklish mode.

As aLer i completley understand how being intimate can increase ticklishness. This can be a good or bad thing depending on if the woman i am with is into tickling or not.
