To those on the forum that are too young to remember them, Ben Cooper was responsible for the suffocating, plastic costumes for kids that had the picture of the character on the front of the costume. You know...because Darth Vader walks around with a picture of himself on his chest. And then there were the masks...the cheap, unintentionally creepy masks that were made of that sharp, thin plastic that was always threatening to cut your eyelids off.
Even as a kid I thought these were the stupidest things I'd ever seen.

I usually just went as myself, scariest in show for 54 years and counting!!! Those costumes today, with the hallowed original boxes, of course, should be worth some spooky $$ on ebay. As a Halloween nut, I do remember these costumes, especially the hard plastic masks. I am sure they were not fire retardant either. I think I got a Superman costume from Sears one year, but do not have any idea about the maker. For most years we just "made" our own costumes out of other play clothes, capes etc.

Yup, I wore those as a kid for Halloween. Didn't know the name for them, but yup...brings back some memories.
